🍂 Hello, Fall! 🍂

Today marks the first day of fall — a good time to make sure your home is ready for cooler weather, shorter days, and the increased electrical demand that often comes with the change of seasons.

A few things to check around your home:

• Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries if needed.
• Check outdoor lighting as daylight hours get shorter.
• Inspect exterior outlets and GFCI protection before the rainy season.
• Make sure extension cords, space heaters, and other seasonal equipment are in safe working condition.
• Check your electrical panel for signs of overheating, corrosion, loose breakers, or other concerns.
• Consider whole-home surge protection to help protect electronics and appliances from power disturbances.
• If you’re planning to add heaters, holiday lighting, EV charging, or new appliances, make sure your electrical system has the capacity to safely handle the additional load.

A little preventative maintenance now can help identify electrical problems before they become inconvenient — or unsafe — later in the season.

At Pierce Electric, Inc., our family has been helping local homeowners keep their electrical systems safe and reliable since 1933.

🍁 Here’s to a safe and comfortable fall season.
