I often get asked, “Do you offer Japanese manicure?” 🇯🇵

The answer is no! 😳

But there’s a reason for the confusion…

Japanese manicure and Japanese gel manicure are two different services.

A traditional Japanese manicure focuses on natural nail care using a paste and powder to create a beautiful natural shine.

Japanese gel manicure uses Japanese gel products to create a thin, natural-looking, long-lasting gel manicure. 💅🏻

At Sakonails, I specialize in Japanese gel manicure—not traditional Japanese manicure.

Did you know there was a difference? 👀

That shiner buffer is thinning your nails.

That glossy finish doesn’t come from adding shine — it comes from removing layers of the natural nail plate.
The more you buff to get that shine, the thinner and more fragile your nails become over time.
Healthy nail care focuses on protecting the nail plate — not repeatedly thinning it.

This is one of the reasons I focus on systems and techniques that support long-term nail health.

Did you know buffing removes layers of your nail? 👀

Stop blaming gel for nail damage.

Most nail damage doesn’t come from gel itself.
It usually comes from:
• over-filing the natural nail
• aggressive removal
• or using the wrong technique
When applied properly, gel can actually support and protect the natural nail.

This philosophy is a big part of how Japanese gel systems are designed.

Many Japanese gels are formulated to be soaked off more gently, and the application process typically doesn’t require aggressive buffing of the natural nail surface.
The focus is on protecting the natural nail while maintaining flexibility and balance.

If you want to understand how Japanese gel systems support nail health and proper structure, I break down the foundations inside my Japanese Gel Ebook.
