Water hydrates curls, oil doesn't. This dry locked hair was begging for water, not more oil. Debate me on it.

Think of your curls like rubber bands.
Old, dry band = stretches, doesn’t bounce back, snaps. That’s low elasticity.
New band = stretches and springs back. That’s healthy elasticity.
If your curls stay stretched after you pull them, or snap easily — they don’t need more oil. They need moisture + protein balance.
