Here are the steps to get Facebook monetization set up:
1. Understand Facebook's Eligibility Standards
Before anything, you need to meet Facebook's monetization policies. These cover things like:
• Community Standards - no hate speech, violence, etc.
• Partner Monetization Policies - rules about your Page's behavior, like authentic engagement and no clickbait
• Content Monetization Policies - rules about the actual content you post

2. Check if You're Eligible
On desktop:
1. Go to Meta Business Suite
2. Click Monetization on the left
3. Under Status, click View Page eligibility
On mobile:
1. Go to your Professional dashboard
2. Tap Monetization
This will show which monetization tools you're eligible for, like In-Stream Ads, Stars, Subscriptions, etc.
3. Meet the Requirements for Specific Tools
Each monetization product has its own thresholds. Common ones:
• In-Stream Ads: 5,000+ followers, 60,000 total minutes viewed in last 60 days, 5+ active videos
• Reels Ads/Overlay: Meet general Partner Monetization Policies + be invited
• Stars: 500+ followers for 30+ days
• Subscriptions: 10,000 followers OR 250+ return viewers + other engagement criteria
Your Professional dashboard will show your progress on these.
4. Set Up Payouts
Once eligible for a tool:
1. Go to Payouts in Meta Business Suite or Professional dashboard
2. Add bank/tax info and complete verification
3. You need to hit minimum payout thresholds before money is sent
4. Payouts typically go out around the 21st of each month for the previous month's earnings
Key tips:
• You need a Page or Professional Mode profile - personal profiles in standard mode can't monetize
• Post original content consistently
• Avoid copyrighted music/video unless you have rights
• Engage authentically - buying followers/views violates policy
