Simple face oil
Think your glass bottles can't survive shipping? I wasn't so sure either... so I decided to put my packaging to the test. 😅
I packed up one of our glass bottles exactly as I would for a customer order, then intentionally dropped the box multiple times to see what would happen. Did it survive? Watch until the end to find out!
Because if I'm asking you to trust me with your order, I want to know it can handle the journey. 📦✨
Would you have been brave enough to do this with your own product? 😂
🌿 One of my favorite herbs to keep in my home apothecary? Comfrey.
Today I'm sharing how I make a simple comfrey-infused jojoba oil—an easy herbal preparation that eventually becomes part of a soothing balm recipe I'll share in another video. If you've been curious about herbal infusions, this is a great place to start.
✨ Comfrey Jojoba Infusion
You'll need:
• ½ cup dried comfrey root
• 1 cup jojoba oil
Directions:
🌞 Slow Infusion Method
1. Place the dried comfrey root in a clean, dry glass jar.
2. Cover completely with jojoba oil.
3. Seal and store in a cool, dark place for 4–6 weeks, shaking occasionally.
4. Strain through cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer and bottle.
🔥 Quick Infusion Method
1. Combine the comfrey root and jojoba oil in a heat-safe container.
2. Place over a double boiler on very low heat for 2–4 hours, keeping the oil warm but not hot.
3. Strain and transfer to a clean glass bottle.
Stay tuned—this infusion is just the beginning. In an upcoming video, I'll show you how I combine it with other herbal infusions to create one of my favorite "Ouch Balm" recipes. 🌿🐝
⚠️ For external use only. Comfrey is traditionally used topically. Avoid use on deep puncture wounds or infected areas. Patch test before use.

Humectants, Emollients, and Occlusives: The Only 3 Words You Need to Understand Skincare
💧 Humectants = attract water
🥑 Emollients = soften skin
🛡️ Occlusives = lock moisture in
Once people understand those three categories, they suddenly understand almost every moisturizer, serum, lotion, and cream on the shelf.

As a little girl, I was always making potions.
I mixed flowers, leaves, spices, and whatever I could find in the kitchen or yard into jars and bowls. I didn't know it then, but I was already fascinated by how ingredients worked together to create something new.
I became a singer, a musician, speech pathologist, a painter, dancer and writer. They all filled a part of that need to create, but nothing ever quite satisfied it completely.
Then life handed me something I never expected: breast cancer.
During that journey, I started paying closer attention to what I put in and on my body. I began reading ingredient lists, researching formulations, and asking questions I had never asked before.
And something clicked.
The little girl making potions never really disappeared.
She just grew up.
Pantry Pixie was born from that rediscovery—a place where creativity, curiosity, and ingredients come together. It's where I share the magic of making things yourself, understanding what goes into them, and realizing that sometimes the simplest ingredients can create something wonderful.
From childhood potions to purposeful creations, the journey has come full circle.
✨ From the pantry, with intention.
Ticks and mosquitoes are out in full force here in Florida, so today I'm making a simple DIY bug repellent using ingredients I already had on hand.
This easy repellent oil combines lavender and lemon balm infused jojoba oil with lemon eucalyptus, clove, cedarwood, and tea tree essential oils for a fresh-smelling outdoor companion perfect for hikes, gardening, camping, and evenings outside.
RECIPE (30 mL)
• 15 mL Lemon Balm & Lavender Infused Jojoba Oil
(Instructions are included in the Pantry Pixie Beginner Handbook)
• 20 drops Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil
• 5 drops Clove Essential Oil
• 15–20 drops Cedarwood Essential Oil
• 5 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
Shake gently before each use and apply sparingly to exposed skin.
