“I decided to join WW in April 2020, when the whole world hit pause on social gatherings. Cooking all my meals at home for the past four months had afforded me a sense of total control over my food choices. How would this work at the family potlucks when classic Mexican dishes are the heart of our celebrations?⁣

I discovered that I didn’t have to reinvent my diet to fit some make-believe ideal. That was key. That’s where my healthy habits really kicked in. ⁣

Instead of parking myself in front of the spinach-artichoke dip, I scooped just enough onto a plate to enjoy with the air-fried tortilla chips I had brought. I eyeballed portion sizes for the rest of my meal and simply tracked, reminding myself that no foods were off-limits. I focused on enjoying every bite. These moments with my family felt especially meaningful—because of the pandemic. I’m so glad I wasn’t stressing over food. ⁣

I once assumed that “healthy living” would mean having to give up part of my identity. Now I’m happy to say the opposite is true. My daily habits and personal health picture may have changed, but the most joyful and authentic aspects of my life—my family, our traditions, our heritage—aren’t going anywhere. Popcorn cookie hacks

🍿 + 🍪 = POPCORN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!

What you’ll need:
➖ ¼ cup unsalted butter⁣, softened
➖2 tbsp canola oil⁣
➖½ cup sugar⁣
➖1 tsp vanilla extract⁣
➖1 large egg⁣
➖1 cup whole-wheat pastry flour⁣
➖¾ tsp baking powder⁣
➖¼ tsp salt⁣
➖2½ cups plain air-popped popcorn (prepared without oil)⁣, lightly crushed
➖¼ cup mini semisweet chocolate chips⁣

How to make them:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.⁣

2. Using a mixer, in a large bowl, beat the butter at medium speed until light and fluffy, about 1 minute. Add the oil, sugar, and vanilla; beat at medium speed for 1 minute. Beat in the egg. In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture; beat at low speed until just combined. Add the popcorn and chocolate chips; beat at low speed until just combined.⁣

3. Scoop the batter onto the prepared baking sheets by the tablespoonful to make 24 cookies. Bake the cookies until lightly browned around the edges, 10 to 12 minutes. Transfer to wire racks. Serve warm or at room temperature.

⭐Star jumps: Stand with your feet together and hands in fists in front of your chest. Bend your knees to sink into a squat. In one dynamic movement, extend your arms and hands overhead as you jump, extending both legs out to the sides before landing with soft knees in starting position. That’s one rep. (Eliminate the jump to reduce intensity.)⁣⁣

⭐High-knees: Start standing. Lift one knee to hip-height, then release and repeat on the other side. Continue to alternate, increasing your pace for extra intensity. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

⭐ Overhead air presses: Start standing or sitting with elbows bent, hands at your shoulders, palms facing forward. Keeping your shoulders over your hips—no slouching—extend your arms overhead, then return to starting position to complete one rep.⁣⁣⁣⁣

⭐Tummy twists: Sit with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Lean back a little and lift your feet off the floor. You may place your hands on the floor for support.Once your body is balanced, bring your hands together and roll your shoulders back. Twist your upper body to the left. Try to touch the mat with your hands. Come back to the starting position and twist your upper body to the right. This completes one rep.⁣
⁣⁣
⭐Side-arm raises: Start standing with arms at sides. Keeping shoulders down and arms straight, raise arms out to the side until your wrists are at shoulders-height. Lower with control to complete one rep. ⁣⁣⁣
