This textured undercut gave her hairstyle fullness and liveliness.

Many of my clients ask me how long they should go between haircuts. I figured I would share my answer to this, frequently asked question. Typically I would say the answer to how long a person should go between each of their haircuts differs. For some it's when their hair just isn't shaping up as nicely as when they first got it cut. For others it is when they visibly could see their hair splitting on the ends. From my experience as a hairstylist of over 10 years, I recommend three-four weeks as the magical length of time to go between haircuts, whether your style is short, medium or long. If you are trying to grow out your locks, it is still important to keep up with your hair, I recommend 4-8 weeks at the most between cuts. When it comes to medium-thick curly textured hair or any texture of thick hair some could go as long as up to 6-8 weeks between haircuts. Most importantly, do what is in your best interest. With that being said I would not recommend waiting over 3 months for a haircut.
