October 30 -- Survivor of the Day -- Kelly

At the age of 42, I was a happy wife and a momma of a three year old boy. Pains in my left breast lead me to my OB who sent me for a mammogram. I was diagnosed with Stage II Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in the left and Stage I in the right. No family history and negative for BRCA1 and BRCA2. The diagnosis obviously shook our world to the core, but I knew I would win. My son needs his momma, my husband needs his wife. My brother told me through treatment, "Belief creates actual fact.”

After chemo, a bilateral, and radiation, I am a survivor! I appreciate life for all its beauty, I savor every moment with my family and friends, and I look forward to meeting my grandchildren some day.

October 28 -- Survivor of the Day -- Annie

On February 5, 2014, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. I'm still in shock. At 31, this is not where I imagined my life to be. I had 16 rounds of chemo (4 AC/12 Taxol), a double mastectomy and am currently undergoing reconstruction. It's been a long, bumpy road. I have questioned God, I have asked "Why me?" and I even have days when I want to give up. I keep going because if not, cancer wins, but more importantly, I want my two children to be proud of me, and I want them to know I fought like hell. I don't want to be a hero or an inspiration. I want to encourage others going through this battle. Throughout this journey, I have found courage, strength and determination. On September 8th, I heard the words "You're cancer free!" I am a survivor!
