Jordan didn’t do a trial run before her wedding day. So, how did we communicate effectively to ensure she got exactly what she wanted when there was little-to-no room for error?

1. I asked Jordan to send inspo photos ahead of time to understand the aesthetic she wanted. She shared several similar images from Pinterest and my Instagram, which helped me find cohesion amid endless options.
2. I paid close attention to what she liked in the photos. For example, she loved one girl’s brows but wanted them less filled in. She also wanted a healthy amount of bronzer, blush, and highlight. Something glowy but not too heavy.
3. Jordan pointed out a bridesmaid’s makeup I did earlier that day, which helped me know exactly which products were used.
4. After finishing her makeup, I asked if she wanted any changes. She requested a bit more blush and bronzer—simple tweaks that made all the difference.
