Hi there! I want to take this time to tell you a little about myself and my approach to doing hair:

I have had the good fortune of having extensive hair experience in Chicago, Boston, Austin, Iowa, and now here in California...including some celebrity hair.

I am very excited to now be offering my services to this awesome community of Canyon Lake (and surrounding areas).

I love to educate other stylists who are equally as passionate in the art of doing hair. I find that in order to truly be successful, we must have PASSION for what we do, and a yearn to learn different techniques. I choose to share my gift with other stylists who want to expand their education as artists, and who understand that there is not neccesary a "right way" to do hair. It is all about finding the methods that are most comfortable for each individual, which will allow them to do their best work. In a sense, it is about finding what makes us "you-nique." This is what sets us apart as artists.

I have an approach to cutting that is different from most stylists. I spend a longer time cutting and ALWAYS cut dry. I have little interest in up-selling my clients. I believe that a haircut should look good with little or no product and therefore, be easy for YOU to style.

In school, we are taught to cut hair wet. We are taught 4 basic types of cuts and these cuts are heavily focused on partings. It is my belief that everyone's hair is unique and this way of cutting does not account for all types of hair and your hairs' natural composition.

When wet, the hair clumps together and is nothing like it is dry. Simply put, we do not wear our hair wet.

When dry cutting, I get to see the hair in natural form. In my opinion, dry cutting is so much more accurate because I can actually see the process unfold with every cut I make. You are getting a custom look created based on your hairs natural tendencies.

To boot, my method of dry cutting is completely organic, as no products or water are necessary. This means I can provide my cuts virtually anywhere.

I believe it is very important to look at the entire picture (your curls, waves, cowlicks, growth patterns, and hair texture) before going in and sculpting my hair design.

The best part for you is that you can actually watch your new look as it moves along...there are no hidden surprises. Therefore, you are seeing what you hair will actually do without a blow dry and style that you might not be able to replicate on your own. What you see is what you get.

One of the things that my clients comment on about my dry cuts is that they can go 2×3 times longer (sometimes longer) in-between haircuts. Cutting the hair dry allows me to see all split ends and create a shape that is going to hold longer.

For me, the consultation process with my client is extremely important. There are so many factors to take into consideration when creating a style, and it is so important to have a mutual understanding before beginning. Every client in my chair must be treated on an individual basis.

I always emphasize the importance of a thorough consultation when training other stylists because communication and mutual trust is so important.
Sometimes, clients do not know exactly what they want. Some say they just want a change, some might say they want to go shorter, and some might come in with a picture.

Pictures are a good start, but it is my job to be HONEST if your hair will be able to look like the picture without a lot of time, products, and styling tools. I want your hair to be easy for you to style on your own.

I ask my clients to come in wearing their hair as they would normally wear it and with little or no product. I look your face shape, how the hair falls, and always ask about your lifestyle: "Are you crazy busy or do you have time to spend on your hair in the morning? What do you like about your hair; what drives you crazy?"

I need a crystal clear vision of what the client wants before I pick up my scissors.

Often times, I am able to create a look for my clients that they were not able to explain to me. Here is where my intuition comes in… I refer to it as my "hair intuition." My intuition combined with asking the right questions and taking my time results in a complimentary look that you will love.

While dry cutting is my passion, I am equally as passionate about color. I have had extensive training in corrective color. When creating color, natural pigments and previous color applications must always be considered. This is where my innovation and creativity with color are crucial.

Some of my clients and employees have referred to me as a "crazy scientist" when I am creating my color formulas. I rarely use any less than 3 colors when creating a formula. The formulas and approach must be tailored to each individual canvas.

My approach is different and I stand by my work. I always work on just one client at a time- I NEVER double book. This way I am only focused on you and your hair needs.
Simply put, I will not let you leave my chair unless you are 100% happy. This is my promise.

Thank you for your consideration.

Do you have long hair but you find yourself aways putting it up because it will not do anything?

I know so many of you would like to keep your length AND have more volume and movement.

Many of my first time clients have been struggling with this issue. They have either been told that it is not possible without taking length off and end up with a much shorter cut or they just end up with a simple trim on the ends.

I am telling you I can help you!

I specialize in dry cutting. With a dry cut, I can see your hair in its organic state and how it lays naturally. I can see everything because your hair is not weighed down by water.

When dry, I can see every split end not only on the ends of you hair but flyaways on the surface of your hair. Taking this frayed hair off will alone will give you healthier hair. Healthier hair means more body and shape.

I can see where to add texture or layers to give you lift and character. Since I can see where everything lays, I am able to visualize your new style transform as I work.

I am also able to create blended layers and make SURE there are no steps (or bulk) in your layers. This leaves for a flawless transition.

I can also add texture and face framing layers all while maintaining your long length.

It is amazing what a thorough cut will do. Your long hair will have instant lift and you will have a style that you did not even know was possible.

I would love the opportunity to give you a new look and show you what your long hair can do (with little or no product)!

Please reach out if you have ANY questions; I look forward to meeting you!

I have to say I LOVE doing color. My specialties are dry cutting and any color service.

Honestly, I do it all...natural highlights, all over colors, funky colors, fashion colors, cool blondes, warm blondes, reds, coppers, silvers, dimensional color with contrast, balayage, hair painting, chunky highlights, lowlights, etc.
And, I LOVE to fix. I love to help. If you need your color fixed, corrective colors are my favorite 😍

My answer: I am not committed to just one line or brand of products. Why? Choosing just one line really limits possibilities for my clients.

When it comes to your color, MANY factors come into play. I must consider:
-What color do you want? -Do you want more dimension/contrast than you currently have?
-Is your hair already colored?
-Is your hair damaged?
-Do you have any allergies to color?
-What colors will look best with your skin tone?
-Are you someone who likes to change your color often?
-Do you have gray?
-Are you trying to grow out your gray?
-Is your hair resistant to color?

I use Goldwell, Redken, Pulp Riot, Matrix, and Privana just to name a few. I also use 2 natural (and ammonia free) color lines. I am knowledgeable in almost every line. I make my choice on what line to use on your hair based on our consultation, while taking your hairs' texture, and other varying factors all into consideration.

I create a custom color just for you. I rarely use one color when I am formulating your color. I usually use three or four colors because your hairs' natural undertones, existing color, the condition of your hair, and desired result all need to be taken into account.

I educate myself every day on new color trends and products available. I have had a lot of training in color correction. I LOVE to fix and help my clients achieve a color (or variety of colors) that they have always wanted.

If you have a picture, that is a good start. I will always be honest with you if I feel as though the color that you have chosen will look good on you. I will offer suggestions and give you a lasting color that will make your hair healthier and shinier.

I look forward to the opportunity to help you find the right color for YOU!

As always, please pm me with any questions!

It is so important to me that you all understand the VALUE that you are getting with a dry cut from me.

Yes, my dry cuts are a little more expensive, but I'm going to explain to you WHY...

✔️ First of all, it requires more training. As stylists, we pay for this on our own. The cost of these classes is more than usual because there are not as many stylists who practice dry cutting.

✔️ Each cut is customized for YOU. I am creating a cut based on your type of hair, face shape, and desired look. You simply cannot get a tailored cut from a wet cut.

✔️ The time I spend cutting includes just me and my guest. You have my undivided attention. Trust me, this is rare; to have a stylist spending more than an hour sculpting and creating only on your canvas.

✔️ There are no hidden surprises. The certainty that comes with a dry cut is worth a lot to my clients.

✔️ The shape will last longer. The amount of detailing that can be done provides for a much longer grow out time, hence fewer trips to the salon. So, in the long run, most of my clients are actually saving money.

✔️ Dry cutting shears cost more. We use specialized shears that will provide a much cleaner cut, and that do not fray hair ends. Sharpening costs can add up quickly. This way, I can assure my tools provide a very clean cut on the ends of the hair.

✔️ Dry cutting takes longer. This means fewer appointments in my workday. I book out at least an hour of cut time, usually an hour and a half to be safe (especially for new clients). So, I need to charge for my time.

✔️Just as other professionals charge for their expertise and special training, it is also important for artists to charge for their creativity and uniqueness. I know I offer something special, and have a very different approach, where I will make sure you will always leave 100% satisfied.

✔️ You will not need to spend as much on products or equipment for your hair. With the comprehensive work done with dry cuts, the hair will move on its own.

My cuts should prevent you from needing to use as many products which include root lifters, mousse, sea salt sprays, gels, or texturizing sprays. Ditto for round brushes, flat irons, or curling irons, the cost of which can really add up.

You will be amazed what your hair will do on its OWN.

✔️ You will save a lot of time in the morning. Time is money. Less time on your hair means more time for family, work, exercise, activities, and life. This is worth a lot to my clients!

To be honest, I have never loved the "charging" part of running my own business. In fact, in the beginning of my hair journey, it was my clients who were telling me to charge more because they saw I offered something unique.

Now, over 20 years later, I know I need to charge what I am worth. For all of the reasons above and the fact that I make sure you will always get the best version of me and my work, I must charge more.

I have had extensive education and now teach other stylists the Art of the Dry Cut, as well as why they should charge more for this technique.

My approach is very different than most. After my clients come in and get a dry cut from me, they usually express to me that it was definitely worth the money. They do not have to come as often, and are in fact, saving money.

I look forward to showing you why a dry cut with me is worth the extra investment.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions (951-722-1467).

*Now serving Canyon Lake and surrounding areas!*

From the beginning of my career, my motto has been to not let my clients leave unless they are 100% happy.

What do I mean by this?

I want you to leave feeling awesome and exude so much more confidence than when you walked in.

This is what the right cut (and color) can do for anyone. It is absolutely the number one reason why I love what I do.

Bottom line:
I just want to make others feel better about themselves, and help them to see the beauty that everyone else sees.

There is nothing better than making another client genuinely smile after leaving my chair.

I would love the chance to show you what your hair can do. You might be surprised!

Please reach out to me directly with any questions!

Are you feeling nervous about getting your hair cut because you have had a bad experience in the past or you are concerned that it will be cut too short?

I get it. Trust me, I do. This might be why...

Fact: When hair is wet, it is weighed down by water (gravity), and it will SHRINK when it dries.

Therefore, if you get your hair cut wet, you can not get as accurate of a cut as when it is cut dry.

In order to get a precise cut that is taking curl patterns, hair shrinkage, cowlicks, waves, texture, and density ALL into consideration, I choose to dry cut ALL hair types (not just curly hair).

Another fact: We do not wear our hair wet, so why would we cut it wet?

And for those of you who are nervous or apprehensive about getting your hair done, I know I can help you.

With a dry cut, there are NO SURPRISES the next day when you try and style it yourself. It will be easy for you to re-create the style that you had when you left the salon because it was cut how you wear it (dry).

With my cuts, you will not feel shocked. You can literally WATCH the desired shape be created as I cut.

When getting your hair cut wet, you really do not know what your hair is going to look like until the very end of the appointment when it is dry. Also, the stylist often blow dries it into a wonderful shape (which is awesome), but this can be difficult to replicate at home on your own.

The fact that your hair shrinks (and lays completely different when it is dry) is just one of the many reasons I stand behind dry cutting 💯!

If you have not tried a dry cut, I (and my clients) highly recommend.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions!
