Thoughts to Ponder

Meeting new friends is very special
Like a breath of fresh air
Or the way a new diamond ring glistens
Some have wonderful stories to share if you listen

A few will give you a heartfelt hug at the end of an outing
Others may share a way to stay in touch
Advice is often dropped in between compliments
Several may leave you doubting why you are there

Poem at seaside

Sitting at the beach on a sun lit day
Warm water and sand between my toes
With a friend or two to laugh the day away
Watching the swells on the horizon makes me want to dose

A swimmer is out bobbing up and down
Wind surfers are floating about
I then give a big shout
Watch out for the clown and don't drown

A shrimp boat is way out but you can still here the gulls crying
Please throw us some morsels overboard
The crew ignores while going about their tasks
However the clown appears and throws over the shrimp that are dying

A school of dolphins show up near shore
Diving and frolicking in the waves
The clear blue water enables me to see
Their smiling faces I so adore

I take a stroll on the beach shell hunting
I find purple jellyfish and two crabs
A dead hardhead fish and a wig floating
I sit back down and look out only to see a bald headed clown

As you ride on the
Back of adventure fear not
It is but a plot to escape the mundane
Hold tight and grip the reigns as you stop you will feel no pain

Ride with the wind,row with the tide
Marry the beggar, buy the house
Jump from the top, roll down the hill
You have successfully completed the ride

Danger seemed close but never showed up
Sometimes you were first, some last
Fear was lurking
No need to hide, Admit you had a blast

A cloud may follow you around
Sometimes bringing rain and wind
Other times shade from a hot day
Or a storm that can blind you with fear

Fear may bring a need to consume
A drug or drink to ease your fear
However the storm will pass soon
But the need for the drug becomes an addiction

During the addiction you miss the sun
That makes the flowers bloom and
The birds sing and the family flings
Swimming, sprinklers, ice cold sweet tea

As a Human our best joy comes from
Caring and loving others. Feeling needed
You have a duty to yourself to perform
And be present to do these things

The drug or drink robs you of life
It is a poison sent from evil criminals
That just care about making money
The few minutes of ecstasy costs you everything

Everyone has issues to overcome
If you are helping others get past theirs
Yours seem to disappear behind that cloud
Before long the cloud is gone.
