The Charmed Comb

Being a weird wig girl has always kinda made me feel like an outlier in the beauty world. The way Dolly Parton shared and embraced the wonderful world of wig wearing was such an inspiration to me. Especially when it came to sharing my craft and learning how to create looks like this. She made big hair, wigs, glamour and sharing the love of it something to celebrate!

The news of her passing was felt by so many of us this week.

I pulled a tangled blonde wig out of the closet and channeled some of that sadness into the thing I know how to do best.

A few years back I had the pleasure of styling a Dolly Parton wig for a tv show and it felt good to pick up my comb and do it again rather than cry on the couch. Honestly I did a little of both, but at least a little glamour was born of the sadness.

It’s a blessing for your passion to be your work; However it comes with a responsibility to keep your passion alive! This year I’ve become a student in many new areas of hairdressing. The challenge of being new at something again keeps me excited to create new things.
