I had to consult with a few beauty professionals on their thoughts on this product because it is a widely used and popular service amongst quite a few different professional brands. My reaction is not unique to this brand at all because I absolutely love Lira’s products. I think it is because there is no great way to make these spicules smell or feel any better than what they truly are. I was really intrigued to try this product because I want to offer a more readily available and affordable alternative to your usual “microneedling” service without the actual device itself, but I just don’t feel like this is a pleasant experience that my clients would enjoy. Let me clarify that this is not microneedling, but it can produce similar effects with collagen therapy and tightening of the skin. I work hard to provide a service that exudes a luxury feeling and experience because I want every aspect of my business to be positive. This was just one of those trials of a new product that I did not feel like would emulate my brand or create that positive experience. I personally was put off by the smell and did not like the feeling of the spicules staying in my skin for the time that they did following the service. The spicules themself do dissolve over time and the purpose of them is to continue to create that collagen healing response as they are sticking in the skin. The best way to describe this feeling is it felt like you were pressing on a lot of tiny little splinters in your face whenever you would go to use any products or cleanse your face. I would much rather experience the usual red skin and sunburn sensation following the usual microneedling/microchanneling service. Here is the best attempt I could do at vlogging for my first time since I know you all want to see a day in the life of being a business owner 🤣 Here’s what my day realistically looked like: - Woke up and started getting ready - Made a High Protein Breakfast - Met with a client @ 9:30 am for a product pickup and chatted until I had to throw everything together for my next client - Regular Client Facial - Clean-up & then set-up - Chugged a Coffee before my networking event because I didn’t sleep well because I kept thinking about my business the night before lol - Enjoyed meeting some new women-owned businesses - Ran back to work to see my next client, but she had to last minute cancel because she couldn’t make it (it happens! I’m just glad my clients communicate as soon as possible when life happens and this client has come to me monthly for over three years now and always makes her appointments) - Moved up my other two clients to fill the gap - Completed a Lash Lift + Product Pickup - Did a Luxury Brow Lamination - Cleaned up: mopped, vacuumed, disinfected everything, gathered my laundry, cleaned my utensils/sterilized them, turned everything off, and set-up for my first client for the following week - Ran over to my mom’s house to pick her up so that we could run over to my friend’s soft opening for her coffee house - Finally got home at 8pm to spend some time with my hubby 😴😴😴 My schedule is generally jam packed. Somehow I thrive off of being a busy girl and once I get going, I have a hard time disconnecting and relaxing at the end of the day. In between my schedule, even when it’s back to back like this, I am still answering emails and texts with any spare time that I have. Being a business owner may be glamorous, but it is a lot of hard work and I am thankful that I have the best clients and love what I do. This is not dermaplaning, nor is this new product safe for you to be using on your skin. First of all, the ingredient list caused major red flags for me. I know it is only for temporary use, but that is all it takes to irritate your skin and send you in a panic. You can noticeably see how irritated people’s skin is after using this product. It went viral for it being an easier method of seeing where to shave your hair or “dermaplane” your face. Unfortunately, a lot of people are going to be disappointed when they notice their skin reacting to this product after a few uses. Not to mention, it will be that much easier to cut your skin or use more pressure with these eyebrow razors. Secondly, this method is a shaving method. I hear it quite often that people think that this is at-home dermaplaning and it is not. This is in no way to shame anyone, it is just not the proper term for this method, nor will it produce the same results as if it were a real dermaplane blade. Dermaplaning is a professional method of removing vellus hair and dead skin cells with a sterile scalpel blade. This is done only by licensed professionals and is a safe way of gently exfoliating the skin with a manual technique (aka physical exfoliation). Now this video is not to shame anyone using this method at home or this product. It is simply to educate you and help you know how to safely take care of your skin.
