Ashley Hamilton - Confident You Beauty

Be inspired to be the best version of YOU that you can be. Ashley can help enhance your appearance, but even more your self-esteem and confidence!

Send a message for a word of encouragement or help with skin, makeup or hair. I am a former NICU nurse who longed to make a difference in lives of women and young girls. During my time as a nurse I witnessed mothers feel as if they had failed. I had so much joy lifting these women up and encouraging them. I am a mother and carried the guilt of failure for far too long. I am on a mission to help women and young girls KNOW how important they are!!!

My vanity/desk has taken on a new look….
➡️Looking at myself in the mirror used to fuel bad emotions and self-sabotage.
➡️Taking time (years) to find self-love included using this mirror.
➡️I learned the art of self care through makeup and skincare.
➡️I kept pursuing self-love and found makeup is not what makes me beautiful (though I still enjoy it), it’s the reflection.
➡️The reflection I saw grew through beauty and lit a passion to share what I was learning.

♥️📝What you see before you, is sticky notes helping me to pursue a dream of being able to help others that can’t find their own way out of the dark. Check out the second picture…an old post where I asked others “what would you like to learn?” Ironic to think that question was also predicting my desire to learn more about mental health!

🙋‍♀️I may be a bit more silent on social media, but I am still here!!! If I can be of assistance to YOU in finding joy in life, through beauty or an encouraging word, please message me.

xoxo… .
Forever grateful to EACH OF YOU for your support in helping me find JOY in my life.

⭐️The days are long but the years are short⭐️

Oh how true this is!!!

There was a time when I set New Years resolutions or goals only to be disappointed in myself by week two of the New Year….who else feels me here???

I wanted to improve myself but the burdens of everyday life, those long days and living with depression consumed me.

Eventually it hit me….a lifestyle change of my thoughts, intentions, feelings, goals, etc is what was needed. I began asking myself how I could break this down even more.

A word of the year was my solution. Looking back upon the past five years, I see how fast the years have gone. My word of the year helped to set my focus of each day.

♥️2017- LOVE (myself)
♥️2018- (give myself) GRACE
♥️2019- RISE
♥️2021- TRUST

♥️💜♥️💜2022……still narrowing it down.

Do you choose a word of the year? If so, I’d love for you to share!

Flawless Face with Serum + Foundation

A flawless face is easier than you think!!! Choosing quality products and using proper application is key.

Esteem Lash Serum

Nourishing and strengthening your natural lashes is as simple as applying mascara…ok, even more simple!

Taking time to be still can be hard but oh so necessary!!! I’ve learned to find joy in the slightest of things. Today it is feeling the warmth of this cup (which brings a smile seeing my name) while wrapped in a blanket, enjoying the cool morning and listening to nature.

Liquid Eyeshadow

🙋‍♀️I’ve had a few questions on how to use the liquid eyeshadow so I created a video…felt so good to getting back to what I love, TEACHING!!!

➡️If you have questions about anything makeup, skin OR self-care, do not hesitate to ask.

💜My joy continues to be helping women and young girls feel confident in who they are!!! I want you to feel beautiful on the outside so your inner beauty can shine✨

Mother’s Day and the Day After....

The day has come: April 1st.

.....I’m usually stoked about this day.

You see, April 1st is the start of my birthday MONTH. Yes you read that right...MONTH. I have never felt that a day is sufficient enough to celebrate the amazingness of a person so I have been celebrating the MONTH of my birthday for over 20 years!

My “choose joy” motto began with filling my birthday MONTH with things that make me happy. As I sunk into a deep depression about 6 years ago, I decided to “create my own happiness” EACH DAY and not just for my birthday MONTH.

As we know, a year ago all of our lives changed as we had to navigate this COVID world. Well, 6 weeks before our COVID lives began I was in a period of silence and reflection...due to double jaw surgery. I knew it was going to be a long road of healing. I had prepared myself and my family that it would be 6 weeks until I really would feel like me again.

Well, I am admitting that this past year I allowed myself to sink back into that deep depression. The pandemic, my healing, the state of our nation, the mental health of my children and many others, etc was constantly on my mind. I worked hard to find my joy but it felt like everywhere I turned there was sadness, darkness, cruelty, and hate. All I could do to turn all that off was pull back from social media, friends and things I once helping people feel their very best.

This year is different. I honestly don’t feel like celebrating my birthday MONTH but I know I need to. I need to get back to creating my happiness.

So, cheers to today....the beginning of my birthday MONTH and getting back to celebrating EACH DAY!!!

❤️Are you ready to join me in choosing SOMETHING....EACH bring YOU JOY???

A reminder to myself and what I strive to help people know....Joy is a choice. It takes work but it’s ultimately YOUR CHOICE!!!

💜❤️It’s been a year...what a year it has been...I’m feeling the “nudge” and ready to share some tidbits with you...

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve applied a full face of makeup....felt good!!!

I wanted to show a few of our new products in action:
➡️Skin Solutions Concealer
➡️Spray Foundation
➡️Matte Lipstick

🌱I love treating my skin well with non-toxic ingredients that nourish the skin.

❤️March Monthly Special...Flawless Four (primer, concealer, foundation, setting powder or spray)

Feeling great in your own skin is something every women should strive for...with or without makeup.

Makeup for me is a chance to take time for me and enhance the features God gave me!!!

❤️What are you doing for YOU today?

💉Doing my part to get our world back to normal!!!
❤️I am taking steps to help out our youth with the aftermath of what we have been through!!!

🏥So excited and proud to be joining the Adolescent Psych Team at Riley Children’s Hospital!!!!

💜Word of the Year💜

Over the past four years I have learned to love myself, give myself grace, rise to the best of my abilities and live each day being intentional. I truly feel God has been molding me and actually nudging me but I didn’t know what to do with those nudges.

➡️The time is now and I am TRUSTING in all those ‘nudges’, pep talks from friends, words of encouragement, acknowledgement from all of you that my posts inspire and have such deep meaning.

➡️In April, I received an email from the State Board of Nursing requesting my skill set and willingness to help out with the pandemic if needed. I have missed being a nurse and this really got me thinking...’how could I help?’

💜Mental Health is my passion and I cannot wait for all that is in store, beginning this year, of ways that I am TRUSTING that it is my time to take the action and step forward to do more and help!!!

As the year is coming to a close I am reflecting on my 2020 word of the year...INTENTIONAL.

The year before, I felt like I was just “going through the motions” and I wanted to be “more present” in all my, work, devotions, self-care, etc.

➡️February brought a major surgery that I am still navigating through the results.
➡️March brought the world to a screeching hault as we navigated the unknowns of a pandemic.
➡️In April, I began diving into my passion of helping people live life fully by choosing joy and ultimately loving who they are.
➡️May caused me to really reflect on what I wanted out of life....turing 39 may have had a hand in that.
➡️In June I participated in a virtual conference and the keynote speaker opened his message with...

“What if 2020 is the year you needed to experience?”

While this year was ‘quite the year’ I found so much joy and an abundance of blessings. My passion has led me to wanting to help more and speak out more boldly for those suffering with Mental Health.

I can’t wait to share my word for 2021!!!!

❤️What joy have you found in 2020?
❤️Are you choosing a word for 2021?

What a great reminder that YOU make the rules to CREATING YOUR HAPPINESS!!!

My 14 year old knew that he was still getting the same amount of chocolate whether he ate one a day or in this case, was having “a day” and CHOSE chocolate to make him happy!!!

❤️I hope you are continuing to choose something EACH DAY to bring you happiness!!

I’m doing a GRATITUDE CHALLENGE throughout November and thought this one was worth sharing here as I find it may help others!!!

Keeping with my gratitude challenge and facing 2020 head on...

❤️Knowing I could let the negative voices in my head and the unpredictable times we are in take over, I’m grateful that I have developed coping skills to keep me going each day.

❤️Sharing is coping skills consist of choosing SOMETHING EACH DAY to bring me joy. Even something as little as grabbing a cup of coffee or taking a bath are things I enjoy that bring me joy.

🤗I challenge you to begin developing your coping skills by choosing SOMETHING EACH DAY that brings you joy...AND recognize that lift in your mood, even if it’s only for 30 seconds, IT’S A START!!! Practice each day.

Loved the innocent look/smile she gave me. 12 going on 20. Loving this soft, glam look I did for Sadie.

Loving this soft, glam look I did for Sadie.

She may kill me for posting this, but maybe after she reads what I have to say then she will ease up on me.

My sweet girl will probably never know what this laugh meant to me....let me set the scene:

Sadie is on a virtual day and came down to my office for a break. I walked in and found her on her phone. I told her I wanted to color match her so we were prepared for competition dance which starts in...ONE MONTH FROM TODAY!!!

She said, "Sure." After getting her shade, she asked me to give her a makeover. I said, "Do you want Glam or Natural?" "Glam," she replied with a little smile.

When I finished, I gave her the mirror and said, "You are so pretty." The look you see is her reaction to seeing herself.

That look is what I want to help others find!!!

You see, I tell Sadie all the time that she is beautiful and I can say it a million times but until a teenager or girl/woman of any age sees it in herself it won't matter.

THIS my mission with Confident YOU Beauty...helping people find confidence in their own beauty.

{World Mental Health Day}
We all love the beloved lyrics from Annie...."The Sun will Come Out Tomorrow". We love seeing that sweet, red-headed curly girl pine over TOMORROW and of course we love to belt out the lyrics and look towards a sunny day...TOMORROW.

-->The lyrics help us to know that gloom and loneliness are apart of life but if we suck it up then tomorrow will come and that will be a better day...a day to start over, a day of new opportunities.

-->Have you ever stopped to think that there are many that live a life full of darkness, each and every day. The gloom is always there and thinking as far as TOMORROW is just too much.
1 in 4 people suffer from a Mental Health Disorder
1 in 6 people ages 10-19 have a Mental Health Disorder
Mental health conditions account for 16% of the global burden of disease and injury in people aged 10-19 years.
Half of all mental health conditions start by 14 years of age but most cases are undetected and untreated.
Globally, depression is one of the leading causes of illness and disability among adolescents.
Suicide is the third leading cause of death in 15-19-year-olds.
-->The consequences of not addressing adolescent mental health conditions extend to adulthood, impairing both physical and mental health and limiting opportunities to lead fulfilling lives as adults.

-->Why do I bring up adolescents...because these statistics were me...yes, the one who preaches CONFIDENCE!!!
How I wish I understood the feelings I had during my youth were part of something deeper than "normal teenage feelings".
How I wish I had someone to talk to when I body shamed myself and carried out acts of bulimia over 4 years.
How I wish I had someone to talk to when I had those thoughts of committing suicide.
How I wish the world around me acknowledged that teens deal with so much more than people think.
How I wish it wasn't a negative thing to admit I was struggling.
How I wish I knew I have never been a "bad mom" I was just dealing with an undiagnosed mental health condition for over 10 years.

-->I am one of the lucky ones.
-->I share my journey of depression and mental health because if I help even ONE PERSON in knowing their feelings are real I have succeeded!
-->I desperately want to help EVERYONE, which I know is impossible.
-->So, I choose to spread kindness and joy and help others to know THEY HAVE THE POWER TO CREATE THEIR OWN JOY AND HAPPINESS.
When those feelings of gloom and doubt creep up....
Acknowledge them.
Tell someone (I AM ALWAYS AVAILABLE....without judgement).
Set a timer for 20 minutes.
When the timer goes off...DO SOMETHING to bring you joy (eat a piece of chocolate, listen to an uplifting song, go for a walk, take a bath, light a candle, go grab a coffee, hug your kids.
❤️You are not alone in your feelings.
❤️They are real.
❤️No there is nothing wrong with you.
❤️It is ok to admit you need help.

Your friend and encourager to gain the confidence you need to live life fully...just the way you are❤️

Finding My Confidence

You can't fill up someone else's cup without first filling up your own. It took me 33 years to YES TO ME!!! That is not selfish, that is just being the best version of me that I can be so I can help others. In May 2016, I stepped away from the field of nursing to fulfill a passion in all women and young girls feel confident in who they are! I firmly feel that when you look beautiful on the outside, your inner beauty is able to shine! Through fulfilling this passion I found MY others feel INCLUDED AND ACCEPTED for who they are. This is not just women, but me too!

I am a believer in acknowledging when you are feeling down, unworthy or depressed BUT you MUST TAKE ACTION to rise from these feelings. YOU have the ability to create JOY....EACH DAY...and through that joy, you begin to build YOUR CONFIDENCE!!!

Choose one thing, EACH DAY, that brings you joy!!!
