One year ago today, I started working at Bonita Beauty, and I genuinely cannot believe it’s been a whole year already. 🫠

In this industry, nobody really tells you how hard it can be to find a salon that truly feels like home. Of course, nowhere is perfect, but I’m so, so glad I found this salon. Moving from a town of 4,000 people to a town of 13,000 has been a big change. I’ve met so many amazing people, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed living and working in a town as amazing as Henderson. Bonita Beauty has taught me so much, and I’ll forever be grateful for the knowledge, experience, and opportunities this place has given me over the past year.
Jessica and Courtney have both played such a huge part in making this salon feel like a place where I can be myself and do my own thing. When I came in for my “interview,” they both looked at me waiting for me to start, and I looked back at them waiting for them to start… and honestly, I think that pretty much sums up the overall vibe we have going. 😂 Nobody really knows what’s going on, but we’re all just kinda… there. And somehow, it works. 😂 There have been so many changes to the salon over the past year, and it’s been so cool watching everything come together. At one point, we had a window. One day, Jessica decided it didn’t need to be there anymore, so she literally hammered it out. She’s a do-er. Meanwhile, Courtney is stressing in the corner explaining why this was probably a bad idea. She’s a thinker, then a do-er. 😂
They balance each other so well.

Lilly and I met in college, so our friendship wasn’t new, but I’ve loved having another person there who started at the same time as me. It made the beginning of this journey even better.
Overall, I’d say I’m pretty dang lucky with my salon family, and I’d choose this place over and over again. When you’re first starting out in this industry, you really don’t know what to expect. After my last salon experience, I honestly had pretty low expectations for salons in general. But this place completely changed my perspective.

I’ve thrived here. I’ve learned so much. I’ve experienced a lot. I’ve made mistakes, asked a million questions, and somehow survived it all. 😂 And I’ve been incredibly lucky to have people around me who are always willing to help. I can ask a question and get an answer without ever being made to feel stupid. They vibe with my vibe, they let me be me, and somehow all of those personalities come together to make what is Bonita Beauty Salon.

So, thank you, Jessica and Courtney, for taking a chance on me and letting me join y’all. And thank you, Lilly, for making the salon even better.
One year down, and I’m so excited to see what’s next. 🤍

Updated Late & No-Call/No-Show Policies 🍂🤎

I give everyone a 10-minute grace period after their scheduled appointment time. After those 10 minutes, I will reach out. If I don’t hear back from you, or if you let me know that you’re just leaving your house, the appointment will be canceled.
However, communication is key! If you’re running behind because you got stuck in traffic, couldn’t find your kid’s shoe, stopped for a coffee, or whatever life may throw at you, just reach out and let me know. Most of the time, I’ll be completely understanding and we can work with it! 🤎 I completely understand that life happens—I’ve been late before too! But I plan my days around my appointments and their specific start and end times, so even a 15-minute delay can affect the rest of my schedule and other clients.

While we’re discussing policies, I also want to clarify my No-Call/No-Show Policy:

For a no-call/no-show, I will still reach out 10 minutes after your scheduled appointment time. If I don’t hear anything from you within 30 min of your appointment start time, it will be considered a no-call/no-show and the appointment will be canceled. Every client is allowed ONE no-call/no-show. After that, you will be required to pay the full cost of your appointment at the time of booking for all future appointments. No exceptions.

These policies aren’t meant to be harsh—I truly just want to respect both my time and your time, as well as the time of every client on my schedule. Communication makes a HUGE difference, so if there are any changes to the situation please just message me as soon as possible.
