Client Conversation

Let's talk about something nobody likes to admit: the nighttime snack spiral.
You've made it through the whole day. Kids are in bed. The house is (finally) quiet. And then it starts — the kitchen calls your name. Not because you're hungry, but because your body is tired and stressed and snacking feels like the only moment of the day that's just for you.
I hear you. And I'm not going to tell you to just "have more willpower." That is not the problem.
Here's what actually helps:
✅ Eat enough during the day. Nighttime cravings are often just deferred hunger. If you're skipping breakfast or under-eating at lunch, your body will collect that debt at 9pm.
✅ Give yourself a real wind-down ritual. A cup of herbal tea, a few minutes of stretching, even just washing your face and putting on something comfortable signals to your brain that the day is done — and food doesn't have to be part of it.
✅ If you are actually hungry, eat. A small, protein-rich snack (Greek yogurt, a handful of almonds, a slice of turkey) is infinitely better than a guilt spiral after half a bag of chips.
You are not weak. You are depleted. And there's a difference.
