I’m becoming obsessed with doing balayages on brunette hair without lightener (bleach). It saves on damage and time and compliments the natural undertones in the hair so nicely.

*You have to have virgin hair to be able to do this, if you’ve colored or glossed your hair, lightener is most likely needed*

This one almost had me in the back room slapping the left over color onto my own head..

Happy Birthday to my best friend of over 18 years (the fact I just typed that is insane, I need a minute). It was so great visiting and seeing your life and exploring the city together. I love that we’ve now both seen each others’ new lives in our new states. Can’t wait until next time (when hopefully we’ll even have time for color).

After years of the darkest black, we’ve been adding some soft dimension and using a dark brown on the root instead of black, and we’ve ended up with the gorgeous, shiny, warm brunette balayage, and we haven’t had to lose inches to damage from trying to go too light too quickly.
