Some mornings feel impossible.
Noa has always been my little Velcro baby, but lately getting out the door has been… a lot. She wraps herself around me, full-body clinging, crying these huge, heart-shattering tears begging me to stay. And pulling her little hands off me? It’s not hard because she’s strong (even though she is)… it’s hard because it breaks me.
At the same time, I know I have a client sitting at the salon waiting. So I walk out the door feeling like my heart is literally split in two.
I’m so grateful for the kind, understanding clients who get it… but real life? It still means I’m running behind, trying to catch up, carrying that weight with me through the whole day.
It’s wild because I used to be the stylist who was ready 15 minutes early. Station set. Day mapped out. Everything in place. Motherhood changed that version of me. And I don’t regret it for a second… it’s just different.
Last night I promised Noa we’d go on a little date after work—just us, her choice. She picked the new bagel spot 🥹 And even though I was exhausted, still recovering from whatever virus ran through our house last week… I took her.
She smiled the whole time. Like ear-to-ear, pure joy.
I love this life so much. But wow… some days being a working mom hits harder than others. Also, this new client absolutely blew me away. Her kindness (I had to move her appointment back bc I was running behind) her easygoing nature, and oh yea her AWESOME hair!!! She is beautiful inside and out! It was an absolute pleasure doing her hair and getting to know her! Makes me so happy I get to do what I do and surround myself with amazing women.

I have worked for a lot of great people ( to name a few from my hair career) and I am so thankful for all of the lessons I have learned from these great stylists. Last September I walked into and immediately felt at home. is an amazing leader, mentor and friend. Being a booth renter means I am responsible for making my schedule, ordering my products and the actual job of doing hair behind the chair. I have pretty severe ocd that was exemplified after having my first baby. I was also diagnosed as a kid with ADHD but had learned ways to manage that (prior to motherhood) but after having my two babies I literally felt like I was drowning in motherhood and running my business. Brittany has been my saving grace. She quietly offers support where she can. She takes time from her busy life to hold check in meetings with me to be sure I’m staying on top of my business. She reminds me that I’m a good stylist and that it will get easier when the kids get a little older. I am so grateful to have her in my corner. Thank you so much for this opportunity to grow at Moxie (and for reminding me to renew my license lol) you’re seriously the best of the best and we all appreciate and love you!!

This beautiful client had about 6 months of grow out. She was looking to blend her grays rather than cover them so we did a highlight and Lowlight. In between the foils I applied an acidic gloss to deposit a bit of reflection where she is grayest. The service cost $278 and took two hours and fifteen minutes.

After vs before. I used .murphy freestyle Lightner to free hand paint some brightness all around the perimeter of her hairline. The goal was to give her a little pop of lightness without changing her root too much.
