This interview was from last year, when I was already calling for forensic audits public safety, and accountability.
Now, people are finally saying what I have been saying: our communities are not safe, we are facing a public safety crisis, and families are hurting.
Everything I am running on, I have already been fighting for. I’m not new to this conversation. I have been standing up, speaking out, and advocating for the citizens of Chicago.
When I become Mayor, I will bring that same fight into City Hall. My administration will bring transparency, conduct forensic audits, hold people accountable, and make public safety a top priority.
I’m not making promises because it’s election season, I’ve been doing the work.

This was last year. Chicago Flips Red exposed and shined a light on this illegal migrant shelter that taxpayers were paying approximately $700,000 a day for.
Citizens were raising concerns and felt they were being ignored. We brought attention to what was happening, brought the citizens to City Hall, and that lead to the closure of the migrant shelter at 4900 Lake Shore Drive.
Last year, we took a trip to the shelter at 4900 Lake Shore Drive. This facility was placed directly across from high-rise condominiums. Taxpaying citizens pushed back because they were raising concerns about what they were experiencing in their own neighborhoods, including reports of crime, prostitution, drug use, drug dealing, illegal restaurants, Defecating on the sidewalk., and other issues happening .
What was supposed to be a temporary shelter was being considered for a more permanent situation. Meanwhile, just one block away, we had homeless Americans sleeping on the ground.
This location was in Alderman Desmon Yancy’s district, and there were also other shelters throughout the city.
P.S. Didn’t they divide our families and tell us to kill our babies?
brought Hyde Park Citizens to City Hall. When we tell you the disrespect, censorship, and lack of care for citizens are real, they are real. Hyde Park Citizens had a chance to experience it firsthand.
Now, people are asking for literature about CHICAGO FLIPS RED.
Brandon Johnson is counting on the Black vote, particularly the Black senior vote, to help carry him back into office. That’s the strategy.
For decades, many voters have felt taken for granted by the Democratic Party, expected to remain loyal while their communities continue to face serious Disinvestment, and Economic Death.
Chicagoans deserve to be heard, respected, and put first.
Meanwhile, his allies, like these Nonprofit, Churches, Aldermen, and friends are profiting off the very shelters that are destabilizing Chicago communities. They don’t care about safety, property values, or tax increases, because they assume we won’t push back. They assume we’ll vote the same way even when we’re being disrespected, displaced, and end
ICE has found dangerous criminals in Chicago violent felons, child traffickers, drug smugglers, and cartel members, all hiding under sanctuary protections.
I'm Danielle Carter-Walters, candidate for Mayor of Chicago
Those remarks were delivered during my testimony before the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Border Security and Immigration in Washington, D.C., on November 19, 2025. During my testimony.
I discussed my views on Chicago's sanctuary policies, immigration enforcement, public safety, and city spending. My testimony is part of the official congressional record.
Get familiar with me. I've been fighting for the people of Chicago long before announcing my campaign for Mayor.
As Mayor, I will put Chicagoans First. My administration will push to end Chicago's sanctuary city policy, which prioritizes and protects illegal immigrants over Chicago citizens .fully cooperate with federal law enforcement on criminal immigration enforcement, prioritize the removal of violent offenders, strengthen public safety, conduct forensic audits across city government, restore transparency, protect taxpayer dollars, and focus city resources on the citizens of Chicago.

CBS reporting crew was attacked. That is unacceptable, and it’s exactly why we need honesty when we talk about crime in this city.
For too long, we’ve been told that “crime is down,” while families, workers, now journalists, and everyday people continue to experience violence in real time.
The statistics that are being put out don’t reflect what people are living through on the ground.
I’ve been saying this consistently: you cannot gaslight communities into believing everything is fine when people are being impacted every day.
And here’s the truth, if anyone thinks crime is “not a problem,” ask the people who are experiencing it. Ask them if they feel safe. Ask them if they think it’s down
If even media professionals are being attacked, then it should be a wake-up call, not a talking point.
MY PLAN
As Mayor, I will not ignore reality or manipulate numbers. I will focus on what actually reduces crime
We will prioritize getting repeat violent offenders off the streets.
We will fully audit public safety spending so resources go where they are needed.
We will strengthen coordination between city, state, and federal partners.
We will invest in prevention, mental health, and youth intervention programs that actually work.
We will fully support our police officers, give them the tools they need, and untie their hands so they can do their jobs effectively, while still holding them accountable to the highest standards.
And we will enforce the law by arresting repeat offenders and making sure violent criminals are prosecuted and kept off the streets, not cycling in and out of the system.
Public safety is not a slogan. It is the foundation of a functioning city.
Chicagoans deserve truth, not spin, and safety, not excuses..

This interview was in December 2025. Thank you to Fox News for giving me a platform to speak on issues that I know Chicago’s local media will never covered.
Everything I am running on is rooted in what I have been actively fighting for and against. I am not playing games, and I will never apologize for putting Chicago’s citizens first. It is always Chicago’s citizens first for me.
I am not part of the political machine. My goal is to dismantle it and bring real change and real accountability to city government through forensic audits, indictments where appropriate, and real consequences for corruption and misuse of taxpayer dollars.
I have been inside all City Hall meetings and have witnessed how our tax dollars are being allocated, while citizens are often told there are not enough resources for their communities. At the same time, I watched them spend billions on illegal aliens, while Chicago citizens continue to struggle with rising costs, property taxes, and public safety challenges.
This fight is personal and real to me. As mayor, I want to be clear about what I would do as part of my corruption and accountability platform.
As Mayor, I would.
Launch full forensic audits across city departments, contracts, and major spending programs to track every taxpayer dollar.
Establish an independent accountability office to investigate fraud, waste, and corruption.
Refer credible findings to appropriate law enforcement agencies for further review and action.
Review all major city contracts for transparency, fairness, and performance.
End wasteful spending and redirect resources back into Chicago neighborhoods, public safety, and essential services to make citizens qualityof life better.
Require full public transparency so citizens can see where their money is going in real time.
My commitment is simple: Chicagoans first, full accountability, and a government that serves the people, not itself.

Thank you Newsmax near the Obama Presidential Center are raising concerns about being displaced and priced out of their community. Many say rising property taxes and rapid development are making it harder for longtime Citizens to stay.
There are also concerns being raised about construction contracts and whether smaller subcontractors are being paid properly and on time during the project.
As Mayor, I will listen to citizens near the Obama Presidential Center who are raising concerns about being displaced and priced out of their community. I will push for protections against rising property taxes and ensure longtime citizens are not pushed out by development, and I will work to create programs to assist property owners with payments.
I will also require full transparency on construction contracts and make sure subcontractors are being paid properly and on time, with real consequences when they are not.

SOUTH SHORE, WHAT I SAW
I recently visited the South Shore community and spoke with citizens and small business owners about their concerns.
I walked blocks of abandoned businesses and vacant buildings around 71st & Merrill and 71st & Clyde.
This is personal to me. I grew up near 68th & Paxton, and I remember when these streets were full of thriving businesses, families shopping, and a strong sense of community.
To see it looking like this today is heartbreaking. This is what Democratic policies have produced while claiming to create an affordable Chicago.
THE PROBLEM
The business owners we spoke with said they are barely holding on because of:
• High property taxes
• Crime and retail theft
• Inflation
• Rising operating costs
• Excessive regulations
Unfortunately, this is not just a South Shore problem. Communities across Chicago are facing the same challenges.
WHAT I WOULD DO AS MAYOR
My administration would implement a Small Business Recovery & Relief Plan focused on.
• Property tax relief for struggling small businesses and grants to help them stay in business
• Cutting unnecessary regulations and fees
• Streamlining permits and licensing
• Making it easier to open and operate businesses in Chicago
PUBLIC SAFETY FIRST
Businesses cannot thrive without safety.
My administration would:
• Increase police presence in business corridors
• Crack down on retail theft, vandalism, and repeat offenders by locking them up and keeping them there
• Restore order in commercial districts
• Help business owners focus on growing their businesses instead of worrying about crime
ACCOUNTABILITY FOR YOUR TAX DOLLARS
I will launch forensic audits to track where taxpayer dollars are going.
Citizens deserve to know:
• How their money is being spent
• Whether resources are reaching the communities they were intended to help
• Why some neighborhoods continue to be left behind
Every community deserves investment, opportunity, and a seat at the table.
REVITALIZING SOUTH SHORE
My administration will work to,
• Allow citizens to invest in and own businesses within their own communities
• Revitalize commercial corridors like 71st Street
