⚠️ Full transparency!!! I didn't know any of this when I started taking braiding seriously.

I just knew I had a gift and an opportunity that I needed to take 💯🙌🏾

Now that I'm in a bit of a flow, I'm learning A LOT‼️
💥 Don't compare - Each braider is unique and should focus on themselves. You will kill your identity, trying to compare yourself to others. Be inspired, not competitive!

💥Be consistent - Keep braiding!!! Even if I'm not booked, I'm braiding or trying to work on content to post. I like to set a weekly goal.

💥Practice- I need to perfect my craft, and practicing will help me do just that. I use my daughter or my mannequin head when I dont have clients.

💥Find ways to improve - This goes hand in hand with practice, but I also try to find ways to educate myself as a braider. I may watch a few videos, learn a new way to post content, or read up on things that hell me run a business. I plan on enrolling in a couple of braiding classes as well!

💥Practice self-care- Braiding is a lot on the body!!! I try and find ways to rejuvenate and relax after I've had a long day of braiding.

💥Pray over hands/ business - Me and God are tight, so this is a must for me 🙏🏾 I NEED Him in everything I do!

💥Have a plan . Honestly, I JUST learned this. I find myself braiding and feeling like there is little to no return. Because I'm a fairly new braider, I'm in the baby phases. I have goals I want to meet within the next year. Years 3, 5, and 10 are still being written.

💥Don't wait for your family and friends to support you - I don't wait for them to book with me. I have had them share content, which is a big support, but I dont get upset if they dont.

💥Identify your weaknesses - I'm my own worst critict! However, I know the type of braider I want to be. I want to strengthen myself in certain areas to provide the best service I can!

💥Value every client - No matter what service they get, I feel each and every client is important.

Again, this is MY experience and what I'm learning CURRENTLY. It's a process for me, and I think it's important for others to see it. It can be overwhelming building a business. Keep going!!!

As a consumer, I am very picky about where I spend my time and money.👌🏾

Me personally, I look for:

1. Great customer service and attitude. I LOVE when people show their appreciation for my business. I work hard for my coin and if I'm going to spend it somewhere, it's going to be a place with great service!There is nothing worse than giving your money to someone with a nasty attitude!💯

2. Cleanliness is a must!!! Especially if I have to spend time in your space. I want to feel comfortable and feel confident that I won't take any crunchy critters or germs home 🚫🪳🚫🗑

3. Welcoming space! What is the traffic like in and out of the establishment? Do I feel comfortable? Am I safe? I have to feel secure.💆🏾‍♀️

But this is just MY list and because I look for these things, I feel that this is what I should give as a service provider/ braider.

I enjoy braiding anyone else's head but my own!!!🤫

Am I the only braider that feels this way?! 🤔

I'm not ready to take my hair down, I don't have time to book with my braider, and had to make something happen 😫 🙆🏾‍♀️

Someone please answer this for me!
I know sometimes we come across reels and stories by accident. 👌🏾

But SOME of y'all 👀 at stories ALL the time and are friends with ppl but y'all NEVER like or engage with them. WHY?
