The cat is out of the bag, I’m leaving Jones Road Beauty. This job came at a perfect time for me to pick myself up after facing the reality that I might not pass the bar exam. This team lifted me up, trusted me, and supported me during a very challenging season. These people graciously listened to me run law as I studied for weeks at a time and even cared for me after abdominal surgery.

This is a see you later, not a goodbye! Thanks for all the love, light, snacks, treats, and support these past 10 months JRB team! I hope I make y’all proud! 💕

Your favorite makeup artist is now also an attorney! So many peers and clients have watched me go through the hellish bar exam cycle and it’s only fitting I found out I passed the Illinois and on my way to work at .

Thank you for all the love and support on Tuesday after finding out I FINALLY passed. And thank you to the endless encouragement and unwavering belief that I would make it to this place over the past few years! It is wild how many people have shown up on this journey.

My swearing in will take place on November 6th, 2024 and I couldn’t be more proud to stand up there with hundreds of beauty professionals cheering me on from so many different chapters of my life. 🤍😭

You book us because of our previous work so you know you like our work! While I want all my clients to share their concerns or vision, when every single part of your face is requested to be a particular way, I can’t trust the end result will be as cohesive as my other work.

And if you don’t like an artists’ work, that’s probably a sign it’s not the best fit!

One thing about working with me is we will have a wedding day schedule for beauty services.

After working over 100 weddings the past 4 years, I have seen over 100 wedding parties experience every kind of morning schedule. I take that experience and ensure the morning feels enjoyable, relaxing, and stress free.

I take into account:
✨when the photographer arrives to take photos

✨when the florist arrives to show you the bouquets

✨when extra family and friends come into the suite to visit you as you get ready

✨when you switch from morning breakfast to lunch deliveries

These things can make the getting ready quite turn into a calm and relaxing space to an extremely busy, loud, and sometimes tipsy space.

While things happen, going into the morning with a timely plan helps to ensure the morning runs smoothly so you can enjoy your day with your loved ones.

As wedding season is upon us I figured I would take a moment to say hi! If you’re new, my name is Liz and I’m the girl behind the brand. Here are the big things you should know about me.

✨ My life has been fully committed to beauty since 6th grade. I love all things makeup and skincare and absolutely love helping women find what works for them to make them look and feel their best.

✨ I am studying for the Illinois Bar exam (again ☠️) and spend my days off buried in MBE questions about things like contracts, evidence, and civil procedure. I know, it’s gross.

✨I recently started working for Jones Road Beauty here in Chicago. If you haven’t visited the store yet, come by! I am so proud of the store and team we’ve built here.

✨ I am learning to “trust the process” and let things unfold in their own time but it’s harder said than done.

✨I am a huge Google Calendar girlie. EVERYTHING goes into my calendar or else it doesn’t exist. If we make plans, expect a Google calendar invite.

✨ Managing a business (Jones Road), owning a business (Liz Monroe Beauty), and studying for the bar keeps me busy but I am so excited for summertime Chi. You will find me with ice cream and/or walking at the lake this summer.

Sometimes, the MOG or MOB are some of my favorite people when working a wedding. I can’t tell you how many times I have packed up and left a wedding wishing I could snag an invite to a family’s holiday party because the mom was so fun, wise, sweet, and smart.
