9 months of regrowth is like a blank slate (That's almost 5 inches of precious fresh new hairs!). I had a great time with this new-to-me client overhauling her look. We went through and touched up the grown out balayage and then pulled lightener through the ends to brighten up her old blonde. Then glossed it all with a nice cool tone and she should be good until Christmas! It wasn't a quick process but man was it worth it 👌👍👊

It's been over 3 years since I've had this client in my chair and if you can believe it... that was the last haircut she had! She has committed to donating her hair every few years and it is so fun to help her do that. We cut off about 20 inches. 20 INCHES! What a transformation. She's also going to try growing out all that colored hair and living in her beautiful silver locks. Can't wait to see how that looks. Swipe to see her before.

Let's talk professional hair products. For those of you that have already found and experienced the joy of having these tools at home, congratulations, peace be with you, you can go along scrolling or keep reading to solidify your choices. But if you're still on the fence about what you should buy/spend on your hair let me give you some insight. As a professional I have used many different things on my hair (and my clients) and can tell you that using a salon grade product on your hair will make all the difference.
•Concentration-These types of products are going to have a lot less water and fillers and more of the plain good stuff for your hair. This will mean you use less of it per application and it will last you longer.
•Quality-The actual ingredients in these products are going to be better for your hair. They won't strip your hair of the natural moisture and shine or that beautiful color you just had done at the salon. They also won't leave heavy build up of residue on your hair either.
•Longevity-Because the concentration and quality is there the effects of these products will last longer when you use them. They won't wash down the drain or fade off within a few hours. That style/shine/strength that you worked so hard to put there is going to stay (provided you are using the right stuff for your hair).

Now one of the main differences of what you can pick up at your local salon as opposed to your grocery store shelf is the cost, but as you can see you are paying for a very different product and the benefits it gives. You are also supporting a small business and those that work there to provide for their families.

You know that you can always comment or dm me for recommendations or if you have questions. More on my favorite brands and products coming soon!

When your client gets their wedding photos and they are all 😍😍😍 Something about planning a wedding through this crazy times feels like quite the accomplishment. It was an honor to be part of this day by helping to get the wedding party ready. Updos are my favorite... along with balayage... and bobs... and everything in between. Maybe it's just that hair is my favorite 😄

One of the very last haircuts in got to do before we closed again 😞 For the last 12 or so years that I have known this client she has worn a very short easy style with her gorgeous natural color. It was quite a process to get her hair grown out to this length. Rather than coming in every 5 weeks like she she used to, she started coming in every 6-8 weeks (plus 10 weeks of 😳) This allowed her hair to grow an inch and then we would thin it out and trim the bare minimum off the ends to keep the shape in place. This is key to keeping up with a style while still letting it grow. Many people let their hair go for months without a cut while they are growing it out and end up hating the process because it's limp or bushy or hangs without a purpose. Trimming it every 8-12 weeks (max! Don't go longer than that) will keep the ends healthy and give life to your style in the in-between.

These bobs guys... I love a good crop. It's so satisfying lobbing off a few inches of that outgrown style . And I wish I could take credit for this color but she actually does it herself! But if I did do it, I would do it exactly like this because it is absolutely perfect on her 💯

Time for some short hairstyles! You all are making me want to chop my hair off. This one just needed a bit of a trim and some brightness to blend in the major blonde on the ends. This should get her through the summer with minimal upkeep and then we can freshen her up before the holidays.

Would you belive me if I said we cut INCHES off and it's still this long 😲 It was a pleasure getting this head of hair in my chair for the first time. We considered cutting it much shorter but she really does love her long hair so we decided to take a few inches off to make it nice and healthy and then load it up with layers to give the feel of shorter lengths and take the weight out of it.

Everytime we do her color I love it even more 😍 This visit we focused on lightening up the underneath that sits on her shoulders when she brings her hair around the front. There are so many things to take into consideration when choosing where to place lightener in a balayage service: where they part their hair, how it falls, if they wear it down or up (or both). No two heads of hair are the same. There is a level of expertise needed to get all these things right. That's why a balayage service is going to be a higher ticket than a traditional highlight but it is worth every penny.

A little over a year ago this gal here commented on a post I made asking if I could do something like that on her hair. It took us a few visits to tone down the traditional partial highlight she had from her previous stylist then we gradually put more blonde in with a natural looking balayage. When we finished this look I felt like it was finally all "my work" and was so happy with the product I knew I needed to snap a photo. When I went to look back at the photos it was uncanny how much this head of hair now looks like the original photo she had commented on, I almost couldn't tell the difference!

All these long haired clients have me 😃🙃😍😓💪getting my workout in for sure. Going MONTHS without a haircut makes for a great canvas for a whole new shape. We took a few inches off here and razor cut it to gets tons of texture and choppy layers. We also spent a lot of time talking products and what she can do to keep up this amazing color at home. Do you have a favorite color care product you use?

Most clients that have come in the last two weeks feel like a blank canvas. When you've got inches of fresh new hair there is plenty of room to play. We brightened this all up adding more blonde while keeping the root nice and blended so she can go another 6 months (can you belive that?!) before getting her color done again.
