🗣️ Talk Tuesday: Hot Stones vs. Heated Bamboo 🔥🎋
Both are warm, both feel amazing, but they serve different purposes!
🔥 Hot Stones
Hot stones provide soothing, consistent heat that helps relax muscles, calm the nervous system, and melt away stress. They’re perfect for those looking to unwind while still receiving therapeutic benefits.
🎋 Heated Bamboo
Heated bamboo combines warmth with a firmer, deeper massage technique. The bamboo tools allow for broader pressure and can help release stubborn tension, improve circulation, and work deeper into muscle tissue without excessive strain on the therapist’s hands.
✨ Which is right for you?
• Looking for ultimate relaxation? → Hot Stones 🔥
• Need deeper work on tight muscles? → Heated Bamboo 🎋
• Want the best of both worlds? → Why not combine them? 😉
At Kalm & Khaos Therapeutics, every session is customized to what your body needs that day.
👇 Have you tried hot stones, heated bamboo, or both? Which is your favorite?

💪 Muscle Talk Monday: The Rotator Cuff 💪
Did you know your rotator cuff isn’t just one muscle? It’s actually a group of 4 muscles that work together to stabilize your shoulder and help you lift, reach, throw, push, and pull.
✨ The Rotator Cuff Muscles:
• Supraspinatus
• Infraspinatus
• Teres Minor
• Subscapularis
These muscles keep your shoulder joint centered and moving smoothly. When they become tight, weak, or irritated, you may experience:
🔹 Shoulder pain
🔹 Difficulty reaching overhead
🔹 Weakness when lifting
🔹 Clicking or catching sensations
🔹 Neck and upper back tension
Because we spend so much time on phones, computers, and repetitive daily activities, the rotator cuff can easily become overworked.
👐 Massage therapy can help reduce muscle tension, improve mobility, increase circulation, and support healthy shoulder movement.
Take care of your shoulders—they do more work than you think!

Fun Fact Friday 💆♀️✨
Did you know you can't tickle yourself? 👀
Your brain is so good at predicting your own movements that it knows exactly when and where you're going to touch yourself. Because there's no surprise, the ticklish response is greatly reduced or doesn't happen at all.
Why is that interesting?
Your nervous system is constantly processing information, deciding what needs your attention and what doesn't.
The same nervous system that recognizes a tickle also responds to therapeutic touch, pressure, temperature, and relaxation.
✨ Your brain and body are communicating every second of every day—even when you don't realize it.
The human body never stops amazing me. 🤍
What's your favorite random body fact? 👀

Education Wednesday 💪✨
Let’s talk about the Soleus—also known as the "Second Heart" 👀
The soleus is a powerful muscle located deep in your calf, underneath the larger gastrocnemius muscle.
Why is it called the Second Heart? ❤️
Every time you walk, the soleus helps pump blood from your legs back up toward your heart. Since blood has to work against gravity, this muscle plays a huge role in supporting circulation throughout your body.
What does it do?
• Assists with walking and standing
• Helps stabilize your ankle
• Supports balance and posture
• Aids in blood circulation from the lower legs
Signs your soleus may be tight:
• Calf tightness or cramping
• Ankle stiffness
• Heel discomfort
• Fatigue in your lower legs after standing
How massage helps:
Massage can help release tension in the soleus, improve circulation, and restore mobility to the calf and ankle.
✨ Fun fact: The soleus works so hard that it's active almost anytime you're standing—even when you're not moving!
It's one of the most overlooked muscles in the body, yet it helps keep you upright and your blood flowing every single day. 🤍

Talk Tuesday 💬✨
Let's talk about one of the most common questions I get:
What's the difference between a therapeutic massage and a relaxation massage? 👀
💆♀️ Relaxation Massage
The goal is to help you unwind, reduce stress, and calm the nervous system. The pressure is typically lighter to medium, with flowing techniques designed to leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed.
💪 Therapeutic Massage
The goal is to address specific areas of tension, pain, or restricted movement. This session is more focused and customized to what your body needs. Pressure can range from light to deep depending on the issue being addressed.
Here's the thing...
Therapeutic doesn't always mean deep pressure, and relaxation doesn't mean "just a spa massage."
At Kalm & Khaos Therapeutics, both types of sessions are intentional and tailored to you. Sometimes your body needs focused therapeutic work, and sometimes it needs permission to simply rest.
✨ The best massage is the one that meets your body where it is that day.
Which do you usually need more: therapeutic work or pure relaxation? 🤍

Muscle Talk Monday 💪✨
Let’s talk about the Adductor Longus 👀
The adductor longus is one of the major muscles of your inner thigh. It runs from your pelvis down to your femur and helps keep your lower body stable and moving efficiently.
What does it do?
• Pulls your leg toward the midline of your body
• Helps stabilize your hips and pelvis
• Assists with walking, running, squatting, and changing direction
Why it gets tight:
• Sitting for long periods
• Running or cycling
• Leg workouts and sports activities
• Compensation from weak glutes or core muscles
Signs it may need attention:
• Tightness in the inner thigh
• Groin discomfort
• Reduced hip mobility
• Feeling restricted when squatting or lunging
How massage helps:
Massage can help reduce tension, improve flexibility, increase circulation, and support better movement patterns throughout the hips and legs.
✨ Fun fact: Tight adductors can sometimes contribute to hip, knee, and even low back discomfort because everything in the body works together.
Your inner thigh muscles do a lot more than most people realize—and they deserve some love too! 🤍

Fun Fact Friday 💆♀️✨
Did you know your skin is your body's largest organ? 👀
The average adult has about 22 square feet of skin, and it's packed with millions of sensory receptors that help you feel pressure, temperature, vibration, and touch.
Why is that important?
Touch sends signals to your nervous system that can help promote relaxation, reduce stress, and increase feelings of well-being.
✨ Your body is designed to respond to positive, therapeutic touch.
It's pretty amazing that something as simple as touch can have such a powerful impact on how we feel—both physically and mentally. 🤍
What's your favorite part of a massage: the muscle relief or the relaxation? 💆♀️

Education Post 🧊✨
Let’s talk about cold stones and why they’re more than just a refreshing addition to your massage 👀
Cold stone therapy can be a great tool for helping the body recover and reset.
Benefits of cold stones:
🧊 May help reduce inflammation
🧊 Can calm irritated or overworked tissues
🧊 Helps decrease puffiness and swelling
🧊 Creates a refreshing contrast when paired with heat
🧊 Can leave you feeling energized and revitalized
Why I love using them:
When combined with warm stones or heated bamboo, cold stones create contrast therapy—alternating temperatures to encourage circulation and help the body respond to changing stimuli.
✨ Sometimes your body needs warmth, and sometimes it benefits from a little cool relief.
The combination of hot and cold can be a powerful way to help your body feel balanced, refreshed, and ready to move better 🤍
Have you ever experienced cold stone therapy during a massage? 🧊💆♀️

Talk Tuesday 💬✨
Let’s talk about the mind-muscle connection 🧠💪
Your muscles don't work alone—they rely on communication from your brain and nervous system.
The mind-muscle connection is your ability to consciously focus on and engage specific muscles. The stronger that connection, the more efficiently your body can move and function.
Why does it matter?
• Improves body awareness
• Helps with posture and movement patterns
• Reduces compensation from other muscles
• Can decrease tension and muscle fatigue
Here's something interesting:
Many people carry tension without realizing it. Clenched jaws, raised shoulders, tight hips, and shallow breathing often become our "normal."
When you slow down and become aware of what your body is doing, you can start changing those patterns.
✨ Awareness is the first step toward change.
The more connected you are to your body, the easier it becomes to recognize what it needs—whether that's movement, rest, stretching, or massage. 🤍

Muscle Talk Monday 💪✨
Let’s talk about the psoas muscle—or as I like to call it, the emotional muscle 👀
The psoas is a deep core muscle that connects your lower spine to your femur (thigh bone). It plays a huge role in posture, balance, walking, and hip movement.
Why do some people call it the emotional muscle?
The psoas is closely connected to your body's fight, flight, or freeze response. When you're stressed, anxious, or under prolonged emotional strain, this muscle can tighten and stay guarded.
Signs your psoas may be unhappy:
• Tight hips
• Low back discomfort
• Difficulty standing fully upright
• Feeling stiff after sitting for long periods
How can you help it?
• Gentle stretching
• Movement and walking
• Deep breathing exercises
• Massage and bodywork
✨ Sometimes the tension you're feeling isn't just from physical activity—your body can hold onto stress, too.
Your body and mind are more connected than you m
