Allure Magazine asked some top stylists to tell us what trends they're already seeing and the forecast for the near future. Watch for some of the top trends over the next few days....

Look 1 - The Buzz Cut

Having limited access to the salon has inspired many to say "eff it" and cut all their hair off. And since we're living in what, at times, feels like the apocalypse, some people simply don't want to have to worry about their hair.

*** LONG POST ALERT (but so worth the read because we get to reopen 😘)***

We are so excited to resume services at GAGA Salon and see our amazing clients. We have received guidelines for reopening, which will affect staff scheduling and require some limitations. We are observing proper protocol to ensure a safe work environment for our clients and staff.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate all of this. It is a new process we will all be going through together.

GAGA Salon Guidelines for reopening:

1) Our staff has completed the latest sanitation/sterilization training to ensure your safety.

2) Please come to your appointment alone. No additional guests or children will be permitted at your appointment. An exception would be for those parents that need to accompany a child for their appointment, or a caregiver for those needing assistance.

3) Clients must wait in your car until your stylist texts or calls you when they are ready for you to enter the salon.

4) No one with a fever will receive services. Temperature checks will be taken upon check-in.

5) Clients will be required to wash hands and sanitize upon entering the building.

6) Please bring in only your form of payment of phone if needed, no handbags, laptops, coats, books, etc. will be permitted.

7) All staff and clients must wear masks that go behind their ears. NO EXCEPTIONS. Masks can be provided at $2.00 each is needed.

8) Snacks and beverages will not be offered during this time.

9) All clients will be required to stay in their designated areas.

10) Blow drying, waxing, beard, and mustache grooming will be paused for now to prevent the unwanted spreading of germs per guidance from the CDC.

Although this is our new normal for a while, we are all very excited to see each of you. We have missed you and look forward to transforming your “Covid-19 Coif.”

Yes - we heard the news!
Our industry is allowed to reopen!

We are working through what the outlined protocol will be and the safest way for us to move forward at this point. Watch for more communication in the upcoming days as we work out the details. We will post updates here and on Instagram.

In the meantime, we ask that you PLEASE BE PATIENT. Your stylist will be reaching out to you to begin the rebooking process once we have a plan in place.

This virus has done a number on us. As we work to build back to our new norm, please be kind. Our salon was built on good vibes and the love of doing hair. We want to continue that value as we move forward.

As of today, April 27th, 2020, Governor DeWine released his re-opening plan, which did not include us hairstylist, nor did he give an estimated date.

To quote Governor DeWine - “You can’t social distance during a haircut. If we do go back doing one person at a time exactly how much money do you think you would make? I bet not enough to cover the cost of all the things you need to keep yourself safe. This is not worth your life. How many clients can you do if you would open up and become ill a week later? Zero.”

We can’t even begin to tell you how much you are all loved and missed. When we do get the go-ahead, we will be working through new plans and protocols that may affect our daily operations and availabilities. Additionally, it may take time to procure needed protective garments and additional sanitation. We will navigate as best as we can but ask for patience and grace as we work toward becoming a safe environment for our patrons as well as ourselves and our families. We will continue to keep you posted as more information becomes available.

AT THIS POINT IN TIME, WE HAVE NO IDEA WHEN WE WILL BE ABLE TO REOPEN. CONSEQUENTLY, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONSIDER RESCHEDULING UNTIL WE ARE ABLE TO DETERMINE AN OPEN DATE.
