I am so grateful to the Colchester Senior Center for allowing River Rock to participate in their Wellness Fair for mobility assessments last Saturday and giving a Fall prevention presentation today to a very engaged and lively group at the Senior Center.

What a wonderful opportunity to interact, get to know and share knowledge with some really wonderful folks!

Happy 1st Birthday River Rock!!!

I am so elated and proud this morning! A whole year RRPT has been open. It was a labor of love of many to get the doors open. And a labor of love of many to progress the clinic and it’s operation to be as successful as it is now. We have come a long way in a year. I appreciate everyone’s love and support, especially my family, my co-workers and our patients. I am blessed. I am grateful beyond words.

We are more than ecstatic to have such a great human and talented therapist join the team!!

Here is a bit more about Michelle:

Michelle graduated from Ithaca College in NY in 2005 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She worked in an outpatient clinic in Quincy, MA before moving to Connecticut where she worked in a several local outpatient clinics.

Michelle has studied many various treatment strategies, which provide her a wide range of skills for promoting and achieving patient wellness and goal achievement. Some of those techniques include:

Hello all! I thought it was finally time to introduce myself to you all. I know most of you are friends and family, but for those of you new to River Rock, here is a little bio about me, Angela Risigo PT, owner of River Rock PT & Balance Center:

I received my Master’s degree from Sacred Heart University in 1999 as part of the Charter Class. I was fortunate to be selected for orthopedic and acute care rotations as well as a pediatric rotation at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston and a dance medicine rotation including work with the Hartford Ballet Company. I worked 8 years in orthopedics for Clemson Sports Medicine in Charleston, SC primarily as a director of a PT clinic in a surgical outpatient clinic. I also performed Functional Capacity Evaluations for ergonomic assessment. After returning to Connecticut, I spent ten years in Home Health at Kindred Healthcare. During that time as the Rehab Team Lead, I was the Subject Matter Expert for their specialty programs including Musculoskeletal, Cardiopulmonary, Memory care, and my favorite, Vestibular. I also was the State Trainer for their amazing Safe Strides program. My favorite diagnosis to treat is vertigo because there are many ways to help and no reason to suffer! I recently became a Vestibular Certified Therapist through The American Institute of Balance. I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and is a Level 8 Gymnastics Judge. My favorite holiday by far is Halloween!!!

I look forward to meeting new faces and friends and providing a helping hand and a high level of service to help you live your best life!
