Listen up ladies! Have you ever went to get your nails done and they ask you to wash your hands??? DON’T DO IT! This allows moisture to get into the freshly applied acrylic which causes lifting! For everyone using Dawn Dishsoap or Dawn Power wash it is linked to acrylic and gel lifting do to Dawn being a degreaser. It removes natural oils from your nail plate which are there for a reason, it also speeds up the time it takes to lift nails, and it causes the adhesion of the acrylic/gel on your nails to wear off turning into lifting, breaking, or chipping.

Peep the logo on one of our very own local South Boston Speedway drivers, I can’t wait to support this family in this racing season. So if you can’t get in contact with me on some Saturdays, it’s probably cause I’m at the track!

This post is strictly for educational purposes. Most people like to rip, bite, or peel off their acrylic sets. As you can see I just peeled my nail set off to make this post, in these pictures you can see the damage to my nails, layers of my nail gone, breakage in the tips of my nails, and red spots from irritation. The best thing to do in this situation is to lightly buff your nails and file the ends to make them even and let the damage grow out. If you are a nail bitter like me, I am going to apply a new set of acrylic nails and be extremely careful with my prep work. The prep work can cause burning if you are not extra careful. Please do not rip, peel, or bite your nail sets off!
