SoftnBlack
Curating and cultivating a space where black women can feel safe being authentic in their femininity and live a soft life.
Black women are divine.. don't ever forget that.
It's a new era, new season, a new day. I'm am going to big up my community, my sisters everyday because I really need for us to see who we are. The time is now that we know and own who we are.
I learned if you don't know or recognize who you are then people will tell you who you are.
Maybe it's time for us to stop looking outside of our culture, ancestry, and roots.
Maybe who we are is exactly we think we are. π
I've been m.i.a on my page lately.
I've been chilling by myself, going to therapy and learning a lot about myself.
And it's come to my conclusion that I've been sleeping on myself for quite awhile.
Sometimes you think it's something you're doing wrong of why people react to you they way they do but it really comes down to you being you. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with being you.
Your soft life, your soft era isn't based on the weight lifted from financial burden. It's not being submissive with your partner. It's not a life of privilege.
I wouldn't want you to be mislead believing that you've entered your soft life based on these narratives. Because coming from someone who stays home while my husband works.. life doesn't automatically get soft or easier.
Through some recent hurdles in my life I've had to really self reflect. And in self reflecting I realized I've wasn't in my soft era or living my soft life. I wasn't ready to live out loud in my authenticity.
I was suppressing and altering and not living my truth because I was fearful of what people thought and how people would respond. And it's only when I began to release the fear and accept me for who I am.
Your soft era and your soft life begins when you release the fear of showing up in a way that is acceptable, comfortable, or digestible for others.
Talmbout "You see her over there fixin' his plate... chiiiiillld" ππ
Not all the women.. but yeah ππ
They look at you like you're being abused or you got Stockholm syndrome or "Couldn't be me".ππ I just want to fix my man's plate in peace ππ Whats the problem??

Am I the only one who's a bit over the entertainment gossip/blog era?π€
I don't know about anyone else but it's like every social media page, every channel, or outlet is centered and focus on celebrities lives. When it was a few here and there... that was one thing.
But I honestly appreciate the era when we didn't know so much about celebrities. I think there was less of a focus and we actually focused on their art. I appreciate entertainers/celebrities who protect certain aspects of their lives.
Instead of those who come to social media to share everything. Leave some things for yourself and your inner circle or at least until you've processed whatever it is before sharing it with the public.
I'm a bit exhausted with it all π©. I've even gotten to the point where I don't even want to know whatever it is. Leave me out the chat.
I don't think we realize how draining it is to our energy to be invested in other people's business. And how overwhelming to get a flood of information about this person and that person.
I'm not putting my head in the sand but I much rather focus on the better good. I have a son in the military during this back & forth with Iran, black females and males are being unalived & wrongfully incarcerated, food is being recalled left and right due to this administration cutting funds and staff from the FDA and USDA.
I want to focus on bringing some positivity, peace, love, and happiness π What can offset the chaos??
Black women have controlling issues..
But it's not because we want or desire control. I believe it's a trauma response to surviving in this country. It's the fear of letting your guard down for a second and everything falling apart.
We always feel the need to fix it, make it right, get the answer or the result. And where it does project and affect others.. it's never intentional.
Stop βπ½ comparing a soft life to a privileged life. It's a difference.

You have dominion over your life!
Hence the reason we have choices and free will. Admitting that you didn't make the best choice in the person you chose doesn't mean you never make the right choice.
Everytime we take accountability for our actions, decisions, and choices we're freeing ourselves from being stuck and stagnant. It prevents us from being right back in the same situation or position we were in before.
