I am NOT an SEO guru, okay? 😂
But shoutout to GRICE | Luxury Home Fragrances because I saw her Reel about naming the images on your website, and of course I went down the rabbit hole and did a little more research with AI.
And now I need to ask you…
Are the photos on your website actually named?
Or are they still sitting there as IMG_72567.jpg and image1.png? 👀
Because your image file names are another small way to give search engines context about what your product is and what your business sells.
So instead of:
IMG_37537.jpg
Will one file name magically put you on page one of Google? Absolutely not. 😂
But if I can make one more part of my website easier for my customers to fine me, why wouldn’t I?
So check your website images.
And definitely look it up and test it for yourself, because again… I am not your SEO lady. 😂 I’m just another business owner fixing the things I didn’t know needed fixing.

Peaceful Sunday. Last one of the month. Coffee in my cup. And apparently I’m feeling reflective. 😂☕️
August gave us Black Business Month, National Wellness Month, National Coffee Month…which feels like three very different conversations that somehow all meet right here for me.
One question I get asked a lot is, “How do you do it all?”
I don’t.
And I think that might be one of the biggest things I’ve learned.
I do what serves the impact I want to make.
I play to my strengths.
I collaborate with people who are better at the things that aren’t mine.
And I’ve gotten a lot more comfortable letting some things simply…not be mine to do.
Because I genuinely believe I can do almost anything I put my mind to.
But being capable of doing something does not mean I need to be the person doing it.
Building a business taught me that.
Taking care of myself taught me that.
And honestly, slowing down long enough to drink my coffee before jumping into everything else keeps reminding me of it.
There’s power in knowing what deserves your energy.
So as we close out August, here’s the question I’m sitting with:
If you could choose ONE thing you want to go all in on…what would it be?
And maybe the better question is…
what are you willing to stop doing so you actually can? ☕️

Before you add another thing to your morning routine, maybe start by not handing the first few minutes of your day to your phone. 😂
This week’s blog is about making your morning feel better with something you already do every day:
coffee.
Read: Your Morning Is Already Full. Start With the Coffee.
Link in bio.
I knew I wanted to create this series.
I don’t think I realized how much I would get from it too. 🥹
Three founders. Three completely different businesses. Three very different paths.
And not one “I had an idea, started a business and everything worked out perfectly” story. 😂
We talked about starting. Pivoting. Expanding. Lessons learned. What actually matters when you’re trying to grow something. And then I made them forget about business completely for the lightning round because I needed to know the important things too. 😂
That’s what I wanted Representation in Real Time: Legacy in the Making to be.
Not another highlight reel.
A chance to hear from women who are actually in it. Building it. Learning it. Figuring it out. And creating something that will exist beyond them.
To every woman who joined me for this series, THANK YOU. 🤎
And if you’re building a business, thinking about building one, or somewhere in that messy middle…
Go watch all three parts.
You’re going to want your notes app open. 👀

Arlene Lace Layer Arlene B | Founder & CEO
Go follow these women.
She does not need another thing added to her morning.
She needs a few minutes that actually feel like hers.
A good cup of coffee. A slower start. A little space before the texts, emails, meetings, kids, clients and everything else starts asking for her attention.
That is the kind of morning Me Time Coffee was built for.
Pause. Sip. Savor. ®
Because some mornings are still going to be busy.
The calendar is still full.
The emails are still coming.
Somebody is still going to need something.
But for 10 minutes?
Warm coffee.
A candle.
No rushing the first sip.
That can be enough to change the tone of the morning.

If you have been following along this month, you have watched some incredible women sit down and tell the truth about what building really looks like.
Welcome to part three. Meet Arlene Baldwin, founder of Lace Layer .
Arlene took her own experience with hair loss and turned it into something that helps other women. Lace Layer is a Boston-based beauty brand with a full 4-step wig install system, from prepping the skin to a secure hold to safe removal, plus the products that make wearing a wig easier and more dependable.
But it is bigger than product. Arlene built education and real community around alopecia, medical hair loss, and the women behind the wigs. She made space for the honest conversations most brands skip.
And the world is catching on. She was just named a FedEx Entrepreneur Fund recipient through Hello Alice.
Here is what you do not see on the label. Arlene is the kind of founder who pours into everybody around her. I know, because she has poured into me.
Join us live Wednesday, August 27 at 5 PM EST, and let’s talk about what it really takes to turn your own hard season into something that helps other people.
Follow Lace Layer so the reminder finds you.
