This year’s Cocoa Bella features something truly extraordinary… The Quarry Project — a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in the wilds of Alaska.
The Quarry Project is a transformative six-day father-son experience set deep in the heart of Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. This isn’t just an adventure; it’s a mission to equip fathers to disciple their sons into faithful, godly men. Through mountain climbing, fly-fishing, practical skill building and a curriculum centered on Jon Tyson's "Five Shifts of Manhood," fathers and sons put off childish ways and embark on an endeavor to become strong, godly, masculine men, strengthening their existing bond to alter their family's trajectory for generations.
Key Details:
Location: Lake Clark National Park, Alaska (150mi SW of Anchorage)
The Vision: To eternally alter legacies through the father's biblical discipleship of his family.
The Experience: 7 days of backcountry skills (fishing, hiking, fire-building) paired with a leadership curriculum for fathers and a manhood curriculum for sons (ages 11–16).
The Scriptural Inspiration: Isaiah 51:1 — "Look to the rock from which you were cut, and to the quarry from which you were dug."

Imagining a year without the Agathos Cocoa Bella is like imagining a year without the annual family gathering I (Ted Trainor, Head of School) enjoyed every Christmas with my cousins when I was growing up. Both of these events feature(d) chocolate, laughter, old friends, new acquaintances, gifts, music, hours of hors d'oeuvres, and a particular seasonal excitement and expectation in the air.
Indeed, Cocoa Bella has become for Columbia a part of "in dolce vita" - the good life. Due to the current health crises, we are postponing Cocoa Bella to next year; however, we are more passionate than ever to extend to you the opportunity to support the good life being advanced through Agathos Classical School. This special school which only last May achieved a national championship in Mock Trial is committed to pursuing an education unlike any other in our neck of the woods.
Please consider extending your financial commitment to support ACS's efforts once again. Now, more than ever, the gifts will make a tremendous impact towards building a legacy of goodness and excellence through the community of Agathos Classical School.
