there is a lot of confusion circling around dehydrated vs dry skin - here are the main and most important differences to notate. ✨Lacking✨
Dehydrated skin = lacking water
Dry skin = lacking oil (lipids/sebum)
While both look similar, they both require their own unique treatment and after care!
✨dehydrated skin, can be caused from over exfoliation, sun exposure, & strong acne treatments.
Signs: tightness & dullness
What it craves: humectants, like hyaluronic acid and a emollient moisturizer
✨dry skin, is more genetic and can also be caused by certain conditions and hormonal changes.
Signs: rough/flakey, itching, scaling, little to no oil production.
What it craves: ceramides & fatty acids including ingredients like squalene and shea butter
