Back to......Why is Goat Milk So Good for Your Skin? 🧐

Vitamin A and Retinol in goat milk repairs damaged skin!
Vitamin A is known for its healing properties: it encourages cell turnover and supports the skin’s immune system. When it comes to skin health, you should definitely be using some type of vitamin A in your routine, and by this point, you’ve likely heard of retinol, right? It’s a mega dose of Vitamin A but it can often cause irritation and unwanted dryness.

Thankfully, goat’s milk has naturally occurring vitamin A, and when paired with its soothing qualities, goat’s milk skincare products can be a great alternative for those who want to reap the benefits of vitamin A without using harsh retinol products.

Aside from lactic acid, AHAs, and Vitamin A, goat milk skincare is also high in B6, B12, C, D, E and Selenium. Each of the vitamins offer great moisturizing benefits to the skin, while Selenium is an antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals which can cause premature aging. All in all, goat milk is full of vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, AHAs, and triglycerides that work to nourish, moisturize, gently exfoliate, and rebuild your skin barrier—all with one ingredient.

The Fat in Goat Milk is a Great Moisturizer!
So, we discussed lactic acid skincare and aha skin benefits, but what we didn’t define are humectants. Lactic acid is a natural humectant... but humectants themselves are substances that draw moisture into the skin. Think of humectants as magnets that not only attract, but retain, moisture especially in dry or cold environments. When you apply your moisturizer or night cream, you want it to lock in all the good skincare you’ve previously applied—and that’s exactly what humectants will do. Basically, goat milk lotions, creams and moisturizers deliver brighter, smoother and more hydrated skin.

So in short 😜, goat milk is great for your skin!!

Back to......Why is Goat Milk So Good for Your Skin? 🧐

Just like your gut, our skin is comprised of a delicate balance of good and bad bacteria, called the microbiome that helps protect your skin from damage. Harsh chemicals in other skincare products, UV ray exposure from the sun, and other factors such as stress and diet can kill your skin’s healthy bacteria, leading to inflammation, redness, sensitivity, and other issues. Goat milk has the same pH as your face’s skin, and is full of nourishing ingredients such as AHA, lactic acid, selenium, and vitamins A through E that help support your skin’s microbiome. That’s why goat milk has been used for thousands of years to hydrate and nourish dry or sensitive skin.

Goat Milk Has the Same pH As Your Skin!
Like I mentioned, the skin’s microbiome is responsible for keeping inflammation and sensitivity at bay. When bad bacteria outweigh good bacteria, it can physically present as sensitive skin, redness, irritation, and signs of aging. So, how does that happen, and can we prevent it?

Yes! You can absolutely prevent it. Sometimes, it’s our skincare regimen (harsh chemicals and abrasive exfoliants) that's responsible for stripping the skin of good bacteria. To bring things back to homeostasis, you should look for skin-nourishing ingredients like vitamin-rich goat milk that naturally balance the skin’s pH.

That’s where goat milk skincare really comes in handy. With a pH level that exactly matches the skin, goat milk skincare can exfoliate, cleanse, and hydrate without doing harm to your microbiome.

It's full of Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHA)! AHA’s are a group of plant and animal-derived acids that are often used to gently exfoliate the skin; however, boosting collagen, correcting discoloration, improving the appearance of fine lines, and brightening your skin, are other AHA skin benefits, too. They promote cell turnover by loosening the top layer of old skin cells from sticking around longer than necessary.

We'll get into the retinol, vitamins and minerals tomorrow! 😘

I know I've been slacking on posting to this page, I'm trying to get back in the grove I was in a few years ago. Bare with me 😜

I've been working on a couple new things for Valentine's Day since the Christmas mad house ended and I'm excited to finally share them with you!! This being the 1st! "Enchanted Rose" body soap! It's so pretty! It has soft rose top notes entwined with lush floral middle notes of lily with a long-lasting woodsy, amber, and soft, sexy musky background. It smells amazing!

Most of the soaps I make are made with goat milk. And for good reason!

Goat milk skincare supports our skin’s microbiome.

Goat milk’s antibacterial nature fights off bad skin bacteria, while its vitamins and minerals help promote healthy skin.

Goat milk soap has been known to help tone down redness and irritation due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to repair skin damage from sun damaged, bug bites and other forms of skin damage.

Goat milk has anti-aging properties for your skin. It has been known to help exfoliates away dead skin cells, a common cause of fine lines and wrinkles, and restores your skin’s natural barrier with antioxidants such as vitamin C and Vitamin E, protecting your skin from aging due to oxidative stress.

That's a lot to read and probably enough for today! I'll get a little more into detail tomorrow about more benefits of goat milk šŸ¤“

Yesterday was an eye opener that I AM on the right path!
I've been struggling a lot lately with if I made the right choice 3 years ago. I know I did for others, but for myself, it's been a major struggle. I'm learning that following my dream instead of going back to my old career WAS the right choice! And I'm so incredibly thankful, grateful & blessed for all the support and opportunities I've gotten over the past couple weeks!

I'll be at the holiday fair in Conifer for the next 3 weekends. Come see me & support some other small businesses for your holiday shopping šŸ›

What’s there Difference Between Body Lotion and Body Butter?

Body lotions and body butters are both moisturizers designed to be used on the skin below your neck. Each one is hydrating, and they can each help soften skin and minimize dryness. But, they’re not exactly the same.

The biggest difference between body lotion and body butter is texture: Lotion tends to have a higher water content and more liquid consistency, while body butter is usually thicker and creamier (like, well, butter). Body butter may have a higher concentration of heavy moisturizers, such as shea butter, while body lotion is typically formulated with lightweight hydrators, like glycerin.

What Is Body Butter Good For?
Generally speaking, thicker moisturizers (like body butters) are ideal for dry, rough skin. They can help replenish skin’s natural oils and protect the skin from stressors that would otherwise exacerbate dryness or irritation. Body butters also tend to have a luxurious feel, so they’re an excellent option if you’re looking for an indulgent self-care moment. That doesn’t mean you can’t use body butter every day, though—when it comes to skincare, it’s your personal preferences that matter most.

What Is Body Lotion Good For?
While body butters are usually on the richer side, body lotions tend to be light and fast-absorbing. They’re therefore a great choice for when you need to hydrate your skin but don’t want to leave it feeling heavy or weighed-down. Since they absorb quickly, they can also be used on-the-go to hydrate your skin anytime it needs a little extra moisture.

I hope this helps! šŸ–¤šŸ’‹
