We basically put tallow on everything in our house. Whenever the kids fall or have a bug bite it's the first thing they grab! Some kids like bandaids...mine like tallow!

I've been keeping a little secret over on my corner of the internet....early Sunday morning we welcomed our 4th baby into the world, in the comfort of our own home, surrounded by the absolute best midwifery team & family.

It was my dream birth. The one I prayed for for 9 months. When I first started praying, I prayed to escape the pain, to have one of those pain free births you see all over the internet....as birth approached anxiety and fear started creeping in. I started to pray and read through Daniel, Psalm, and isaiah realizing that while yes, God can take away our pain, He more often meets us in the pain. He meets us where we are and gives us the strength to get through it. It's supernatural & the most incredible thing to experience.

I prayed for complete surrender, to see Jesus all over my birth, to hear Him and feel his presence around me. I prayed that I would be able to have a water birth this time, to be able to catch my own baby & that all my children would be with me in this incredible moment welcoming their baby sibling into this world. Every prayer was answered to the glory of God!

In those last minutes where I felt like I just could not get through, while there were 6 other people surrounding me, it was silence in the room. I don't know if it was actually silent or if everything was tuned out, but all I could hear was the song I had been listening to all week playing.

"Here I am, down on my knees again. Surrendering it all. Find me here, Lord as you draw me near, I'm desperate for you. I surrender."

In that moment I let go of the fear. I gave it my all, pushed hard, felt my babies head and pushed her out fully on the next push. I was finally holding my baby girl. With my children and husband surrounding me.

God is so so good!
