Are ‘Heat Pumps’ the Answer to Heat Waves? Some Cities Think So. Electric heat pumps are a way to cool and heat homes at a much lower carbon cost than traditional air-conditioners and furnaces.

There is an increase in the demand for cooling as temperatures rise. We are using progressive cooling strategies without having to further contribute to global warming. This lift and slide door is triple pane with a U value of 0.06. These are super airtight, efficient and Passive certified. This house is close to net zero. In the summer it keeps the heat out and during the winter months it keeps the heat inside.

Earlier this summer the final coat of exterior plaster was applied, making this clay/straw house sunny and inviting. One special feature of this home is the hand carved wood entry door insert beautifully crafted by the resident's father.
