I’ve been there.

That’s one of the biggest reasons we created Know My Day, not because teachers needed more to do, but because they deserved a simpler way to communicate with families.

Question: What’s the hardest part about parent communication at the end of the school day?

There was one question that changed everything…

“How was your day?”

For many parents, that’s the first question they ask when their child gets home from school.

But what if your child can’t answer?

During my years as a special education teacher, I had parents share how heartbreaking it was that they couldn’t ask their child about their day. They wanted to know if they smiled, if they enjoyed therapy, if they ate lunch, or if something funny happened on the playground.

At the same time, I found myself scrambling at the end of each day trying to gather information from paraprofessionals, therapists, and support staff so I could give parents the updates they deserved.

That’s when the idea for Know My Day was born.

We didn’t set out to create “just another communication platform.” We wanted to make sure every child had a way to share their story, even when they couldn’t tell it themselves.

That mission still drives everything we do today.
