A bandaid made me cry today.
Earlier this year my grandma passed very unexpectedly. She was an essential part of my life growing up and into adulthood. And she poured the same love and care into her great grandchildren. She curated the most thoughtful gifts for everyone in her life, sheโs always been the grandma who would sew Easter dresses for me every year, quilt blankets, crochet anything and everything. As she got older her hands didnโt work that way anymore but she didnโt let that stop her from using her creativity to show her love. So she would still do what she could to create thoughtful gifts any way she was able. One year for one of the kids birthdays she created a little necessities care basket and these bandaids were a part of it. It was one of those moments that stopped me in my tracks as I unexpectedly came across a memory of her and its like the grief starts over. My kids were so loved by her and she was so loved by them. And it was a little comforting seeing she was a part of comforting foster today with this bandaid.
