Today is my six year work-aversary! I was pregnant and not feeling like taking a picture last year (year 5), but I got year 6 done on my anniversary! Six years at Community Clinic has been an experience, to say the least. I am not sure what the future holds for me and Community Clinic, but I couldn’t have imagined working anywhere else for the last 6 years.

Quoted from my dissertation, “I would like to dedicate this dissertation to my husband, Keenan Page. Two years into my doctoral program, we met and you admitted one of the things that made you fall in love with me was my work in the community and the pursuit of my PhD. We met just a few months after I left an abusive and toxic relationship with my two children and a few trash bags of belongings. I went from sleeping on a blow-up mattress, trying to study at night after I put my children to bed to a loving and supportive relationship, with a husband who has picked up the slack in every way so that I could finish this dissertation. You have uplifted me in ways I could never describe. Without you, we would not have our beautiful home, our incredible family, and our new baby boy and I wouldn’t have this dissertation. You inspire me to pursue greatness and to change the world with my ideas. For all of this and so much more, I dedicate this dissertation to you.“

I feel guilty being very excited about this, while I am sitting in the chair of my son‘s hospital room holding him as he sleeps. But my husband reminds me all the time that two things can be true at the same time, I can be excited about this accomplishment and feel emotionally and physically drained from my son‘s battle with RSV.
