Some chapters of life arrive slowly — built from late nights, hard work, and a whole lot of hope. Last May, one of those chapters finally began. We bought our first home.

It was messy and overwhelming and everything we'd ever dreamed of, all at once. And in the middle of that milestone, we were given an incredible opportunity — we filmed an episode of House Hunters.

We've held this secret close for almost a year, and now we're ready to share it with the people who matter most to us.

Went to Dallas today with Sam to celebrate my birthday and to get at the shop's 30th anniversary celebration expecting just a fun, spontaneous experience...and what I walked away with is a stunning tattoo from a LEGEND!

Sam and I were obsessed with and used to watch it religiously. For a newbie getting my first tattoo in my 40s, that show was a guidebook to everything I needed to know about tattoos! We always loved his real, honest, (sometimes brutal) critiques because you could tell he was passionate about the art and only wanted other artists to reach their full potential.

So when I was told that none other than THE INK MASTER HIMSELF would be the one to tattoo me, I was beside myself!

I always wanted a from him but always thought it would require much more of a process and figured his books are probably NEVER open! But I walked in and got the best damn ever!

I did not fan girl one bit! Hahaha. But probably because I was facing away from him (Luckily for him or I probably would've been talking his ear off)! LOL.

A friend suggested I turn to creating more during dark and upsetting times. So this year, I promised myself I would create more art and experiences. On Monday, I could've stayed home and watched as that horrific train wreck derail everything humans have worked towards for centuries and divide our nation even more. But instead, I took a friend up on an offer to participate in several of her art projects.

When Trina asked me to get at on their final day before closing...I said "HELL YES!" Let's CREATE ART instead of sit and watch this destruction going on around us! What an inspiring way to start 2025 and set the tone for the year! And also to bid a final farewell to such a beautiful creative space!

And...it felt sooooo good to be with friends, laughing, creating, and just trying our best to look towards the future with hope.

Here's to being the creative force I wish to see in this world in 2025!
