Beauty isnāt one lookāitās wise communication. āØššØš©š¾āšØ
One of the biggest misconceptions in todayās beauty culture is that there is one ācorrectā way to wear makeup. In reality, makeup is visual communication. A stage performer, a bride, a corporate executive, a television host, and a beauty educator may all wear completely different styles while each remains beautifully appropriate for the occasion.
These three photographs represent three different assignments throughout my journey as a makeup artist and educator:
āØ Performance artistry, where makeup must read under bright lights and from a distance.
āØ Brand styling, where makeup supports the wardrobe and visual identity rather than competing with it.
āØ Professional editorial beauty, where restraint, balance, and polish often communicate more than dramatic application.
As a Beauty Theologian & Artistry Educator, my goal isnāt simply to teach where to place makeup products. I want to teach why different techniques exist, how they serve different purposes, and how beauty can be approached as thoughtful stewardship rather than comparison or performance.
Our appearance should never determine our worth. Instead, our identity in Christ gives us the freedom to use beauty as a creative giftāwisely, intentionally, and without bo***ge to ever-changing cultural standards.
Beauty has context.
Artistry requires discernment.
And timeless principles will always outlast temporary trends.

Before beauty trends changed again, I was quietly filming a series of lessons designed to teach the why behind makeup artistryānot just the how.
This clip is from my Complexion II lesson, where I demonstrate how to build dimension through intentional highlighting, contouring, and strategic product placement. Every brush stroke has a purpose, and understanding those principles gives you the confidence to adapt techniques to your own unique features.
These lessons were originally created for a āBrunch & Beatā beauty education experience that never came to fruition at the time. Looking back, I donāt believe they were forgottenāI believe they were simply waiting for the right season.

In this season of digital Iām FINALLY able to find āhomesā for many of my old beauty projects. This one was makeup inspired.
Although my niece Kiera and I recorded this in 2022 (*a correction to 2023), this is a look Iād personally wear every summer!

All that glitters aināt goldā¦sometimes itās a silver lining. āØšš«¶š¾
Transparency: Because my phone storage is full and I need to clear space for āthe new thingsā, I must clear the digital clutter Iāve been holding ontoāvia my phone and spirituallyāin my heart.
For years, Iāve been waiting for perfection: āthe āperfectā moment, the āperfectā space, the āperfectā audienceā¦when there really is no such thing. What is made perfect is Godās strength in my weakness.
And Iāve been broken before Him again and again. Because I am learning the value of suffering and surrender, He takes my imperfections and makes all things newā¦not because Iām āthat good ā (now), but because He is (and has always been)! āØšš«¶š¾

This video was captured during a time when our whole family was enduring one of the most difficult realities weāve had to face together. Collectively, and individuallyā¦(circa 2021)
For myself, I transitioned from a traumatic transition that left me questioning not only my sanity, but also my skills and abilities within my own profession.
Iād been a professional in the beauty industry for over a decade at this point, but I struggled to recall all the knowledge I spent years acquiring. But, God always has a way (and a tribe) to remind us of who He created us to be and what we are called to do.
For me, those people were always my family. Whether they simply asked for application advice or needed makeup for a photo shoot, they consistently called me to actionā never letting me fallā even when I wanted to let go and separate myself from it all.
This is more than a skin prep video. Itās a gentle reminder of grace, love, trust, and perseveranceā¦things we all need to keep moving forward.
To God, and for them, I am eternally thankful. š«¶š¾šš«¶š¾
