🌱 From Roots to Reality — Learning Never Stops 📚🤓

While I’ve been a nearly lifelong gardener — and come from a multi-generational line of gardeners and plant lovers — I always try to keep an open mind and continue learning wherever I can.

One of my favorite plant influencers, Tanner The Planter, just released his new book — and I didn’t hesitate to grab a copy. 📕

I’ve followed Tanner’s journey for years. I’ve learned a lot from his approach and have incorporated some of his techniques into my own plant care — especially the chopstick method for watering.

So while I’m just beginning to dive into the book itself, I feel confident saying this is one I’m genuinely excited to support. The presentation alone is beautiful — thoughtful, clean, and clearly created with intention.

I’ll be sharing a full review once I’ve had time to really sit with it over the next few days — but so far, I already have high expectations 🌿

I’m so excited to share that Rockwood Roots will be popping up at a couple of spring markets — and even more special, I’ll be set up side-by-side with my mom 💛
Sherry’s Naturals will be joining me, and we’re making it a full family booth!

🌿✨ FROM ROOTS TO REALITY — A HOMESTEAD IS TAKING SHAPE ✨🌿

Rockwood Roots is entering a season of deep creation — and a bit of a Winter Freeze ❄️

I recently acquired my lifelong dream: 7 acres of wooded homesteading land, complete with a large pole barn that will become a working livestock space and a second outbuilding that will be transformed into our future craft studio — the Craft Haus.

This space will allow Rockwood Roots to fully embody its mission:

🌿 Nourish — herbal soaps, salves, lotions, and body care crafted from natural ingredients
🔥 Transform — a pottery studio with kiln, plus space for incense, wax melts, candles, and fire-born creations
🌱 Grow — cultivating plants, herbs, and animals on the land itself to sustain it all

I took occupancy of the property in November and have been pouring blood, sweat, and tears into making the home move-in ready first. Because of this, business activity will move more slowly through spring and summer while the physical foundations of Rockwood Roots are being built.

Thank you for your patience, encouragement, and support during this season of building 🪾

💧✨ Simply Nourished Salve ✨💧

Alright everyone… the sweet spot officially landed at Version 9 — yes, nine! 👏🏻

If you get winter dry/cracked hands, feet, knees, elbows, etc.. this is the product for you!

The final Version 9 came out beautifully — rich, creamy, and with a quicker absorption that leaves the skin feeling nourished without excess greasiness. It does contain both sweet almond oil and avocado oil, so a little absorption time is natural, but the finish is wonderfully soft and balanced.

This final blend will be available at the vendor market I’m attending this weekend and at several others throughout the holiday season.

Late-night lab testing over here of the Winter Hand Salve v3.0! 👏🏻

I’m hoping this version hits the sweet spot — creamy, non-greasy, and full of that natural cocoa & shea butter goodness. It already smells amazing, and the first signs of hardening are perfect!

Testing happens in the morning, but either way, the final product will definitely be joining me at the holiday vendor markets! ❄️🎄
