Services performed: loc combination/wicks and loc detox and full restoration. I concealed the thinning area in the crown WITHOUT the use of black spray or fillers. Loc combining is a really cool concept! But when it comes to major repairs or covering thinning areas, you may wonder what the results look like over time. So this video is an update for my client 8 months after getting his locs combined into wicks.

2. Will my hair grow back underneath?

Covering the thinning alone will not make your hair grow back. Covering the thinning alone will not make your hair grow back.Combining locs to cover thinning is NOT an option for everyone, it requires a ton of dedication, and most importantly INCREASED care for your scalp underneath! In some cases I have seen the hair grow back, but it does not happen that way for everyone.

3. What causes hair to thin like this?

Sometimes it is genetic, and other times it is caused by too much tension... hormones, major changes in diet or even stress. Finding the cause is an important step in finding the solution to your hair growth. If you hair is breaking in a certain spot due to stress, then it would do you no good to apply growth creams without addressing the source of your problems, etc.

4. How long did this take? 19 hours. The longer you have had your locs, and the longer they are, the longer this service will take.

5. Did you leave the rubber bands on? Yes. The rubber bands will stay on until the hair around the loc is long enough to be tucked in without them. This is a personal preference, not a requirement. I choose this method for longevity.

6. What did you use to cover the bald spot? NO FILLERS, FIBERS, DYES, OR SPRAYS! I carefully mapped out his sections to ensure the proper placement, and I combined his locs in a manner that would not expose the skin underneath.
