Well, August happened 😮‍💨 Here’s the honest recap and what I’m doing differently this month.

We barely did it, but we hit our August goal of being cash flow positive - it was so close! This month, I know we’re set up for success and I’ll be working hard at getting us to a solid financial and operational place for the rest of the year.

Turns out running a self care focused brand does not exempt you from lifting things you probably shouldn’t lift alone 🤫

Here’s our monthly state of the business update - and the good news is we need to keep making more inventory (aka Heel and Foot Balms in eucalyptus) 🫶

The bad news is that inventory production meant we had a big cash outflow in July that meant we did not hit our monthly goal 😮‍💨

This was the second time we missed our goal this year, so I’m not sweating it just yet - but I am definitely keeping an eye on things a bit more this month!

Two sayings have been on my mind a lot recently:

“Do things that don’t scale at first” and
“There is no try hard award for making your life more difficult”

We’ve had so much growth over the past year and I’ve stuck to doing things in a way that is no longer serving me or Erleia. So it’s finally time to change and grow - there’ll be a few changes around here over the next few weeks that I hope help us continue to bring accessible plastic free skincare options to more folks AND do it in a way that helps us be a more sustainable brand, in all senses of the word.

Yes, I brought our Lotion Bar on a 9 mile hike that included scrambling and climbing up a waterfall.
