Too many people think that once you have a disc herniation (or disc bulge), that you’ve got it for life. Well, a recent meta-analysis has shown that 2/3 of disc bulges spontaneously «heal» on their own! Many of them within a few months too, not years.⠀

Conclusion from the paper: “Because the overall incidence of disc de-herniation is now 66.66% according to our results, conservative treatment may become the first choice of treatment for LDH.”⠀

Doctors and nurses desperate for protective gear are begging the public to donate it

[03/20/20]   Hello all! So I'm not the best with social media, but as of this past Monday, March 16th, I closed my door temporarily. I will be closed until at least April 30th, if not a little longer depending on how long this pandemic last for. I appreciate all of you and stay safe. You are still able to buy gift certificates for future appointments. Stay safe. Stay clean!

Scientists Show How Gratitude Literally Alters The Human Heart & Molecular Structure Of The Brain Gratitude is a funny thing. In some parts of the world, somebody who gets a clean drink of water, some food, or a worn out pair of shoes can be extremely grateful. Meanwhile, somebody else who has all the necessities they need to live can be found complaining about something. What we have today is [...

Shoulder MRI Findings in People with NO Shoulder Pain: Are Some Tears “Normal” – Howard J. Luks, MD

This is a very simple well stated article on MRI findings, I love it! Does an MRI actually show you the reason for your pain pattern? Your shoulder hurts and you see your doctor. You expect an MRI to be performed, and many doctors will oblige you and order that MRI. But .. what if I told you that almost no one has a “normal”

Had a great training yesterday with the mastermind Jay of Meta mvmt! Learned alot!

Mass General Research Institute

This is pretty cool!

A multidisciplinary team at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging released an MRI scan of the human brain at 100 micron resolution to the public today. This is the highest resolution MRI scan of the whole human brain to date. The images are 1,000 times more detailed than a standard clinical MRI scan.

The brain was donated by a 58-year-old woman who died of non-neurological causes. Her family provided informed consent for the research. We imaged her brain for 5 days continuously on a 7 Tesla MRI scanner using custom-built coil technology.

We envision that this ultra-high resolution MRI scan will have a broad range of investigational, educational, and clinical applications that will advance understanding of human brain anatomy in health and disease. We thank the patient and her family for their contribution to medical science.

A Totally New Type of Blood Vessel Has Been Discovered Hidden in Human Bones

Single Cell Animation

Here's a visual of what it looks like when you breath.

An animation showing the moving parts of the Respiratory System.
The Lungs are different from one another. The right consists of three lobes, Superior, Middle, and Inferior, while the left only has two, the Superior and Inferior.
The Lungs are encased by the Pleura, a membrane surface that lubricates the lungs movement while we breath.
The Diaphragm, a muscle that helps pump air into and out of the lungs. As it contracts (moves down), the air is sucked in, as it relaxes, the air is pushed out.
