Onyx Massage Therapy and Coronavirus Impact
In light of the regulations put forth by the federal government, it is with careful deliberation and a heavy heart that I have decided to close my studio for the rest of this week and possibly next week. I truly hoped to remain open through this time but as I venture out for the very few sessions I have left on the books, I feel like I am putting myself and clients at risk. We are all taking this day by day, and are unsure where we are headed. For all of our safety I feel it is best to avoid direct contact with others for now. This is a hard decision, not only financially, but professionally and socially. I will be thinking of you all, hoping you're not experiencing too much stress and tension! I'll be missing our interactions and the feeling of being in service.
Some people have expressed a desire to reach out and contribute aid. In response, I am offering virtual gift certificates via email. I am extending my client loyalty rates to all GC's purchased for use in the near future. This will help support my small business during these rough times, not only financially but out of hope for our future reconnection in a time of celebration!

These days, I often hear of MT's referring to themselves as "healers". When I went to school we were highly encouraged to refrain from using this title. Even when others placed it upon us. Because we are not healers. We are educators. We help facilitate the healing process by educating you about your body via touch and sometimes with actual verbal content. You, the client, are the healer. You heal yourself. You heal your trauma, injury, unhealthy habits, etc. Don't give that power away to someone else. And as an MT I will never take that title. That's a lot of pressure to carry!
