👻 happy hallow’s eve!

I fell down a ‘brides of Dracula’ lore rabbit hole after being the MUA on this shoot & here’s my fun facts:
🩸The brides of Dracula first appear in chapter 3 of Bram Stoker’s novel but the verdict is still out whether they are indeed his brides — in Stoker’s novel, they are referred to as “weird sisters,” whereas film adaptations commonly represent them as romantic companions of Dracula.
🩸Solely referred to as sisters or brides by Stoker, we don’t meet Marishka, Verona or Aleera by name until Van Helsing’s 2004 rendition of them.
🩸Across adaptations, their signature look — porcelain skin, blood-red lips & hypnotic eyes — continues to inspire high-fashion editorials & avant-garde makeup artistry… giving ✨horror but make it haute couture✨
