It takes one year for every cell in your body to turn over. This means for the first time in my non kid life, I’m stronger than I had been when I first started instead of weaker.

30’s came in with a vengeance and for the first time I was gaining weight where I had never gained before. My favorite pairs of jeans were no longer comfortable. I kept joking that they had betrayed me one of the pair tore. I had gotten to a point where I needed to unbutton them when I sat down for a length of time but I really didn’t want to go buy new jeans. I like pricy jeans from buckle lol so it was time to get fit and I refused to buy the next size up. I chose to stay uncomfortable until I fit them again.

Coach Brittany warned me that the numbers on the scale wouldn’t matter but that’s a hard concept to wrap your head around when we Americans tend worship those stupid digits on the scale.
She was right though. My numbers on the scale really haven’t changed in 14mo but my body has most definitely changed! The best part is that I haven’t had to give up foods I loved to do this. I learned balance though! A lot of this I’ve done almost entirely virtually from my home and not in a gym!
The first few months were hard. I wasn’t lifting anything heavier than 5 lbs dumbbells. Talk about feeling weak! But that was short lived and I’ve moved on to heavier weights every month of this challenge. I have no regrets to having started this journey and weightlifting has very much become part of my life. I don’t see me changing my ways anytime soon.

Aside from tomorrow… I’m taking the whole week off for me time.

I told the family in advance that this was the plan. I will not be doing a single dish, or load of laundry, or making dinner.

I have a whole bunch of frozen food that they love but don’t get that often awaiting them so they will be thrilled. lol the air fryer will be pulling OT this week.

Opening 50 tabs to research a product, getting overwhelmed, closing them all, and buying nothing.

Staying diligent week after week to become debt-free as a busy mom is the hardest part. Week after week of diligence for years can feel impossible when you're the one cooking, cleaning, meal planning, and shuttling children here and there. Seriously though! What mom has spare mental energy to add this to their weekly to-do list with a smile for YEARS and YEARS until they are debt free? I don’t!

Now I spend 20min a week now on my budget with a financial gps that does the hard calculating for me. I get to keep more of my time, money, and sanity!
