Team crew and returned to our home lake this weekend and took 2nd place in the Sweet Sixteen National Champion regatta at

An impressive sight: 40+ boats all ready to go. These are the bravest, most elite sailors in all the Great Lakes. Tomorrow we go to battle with all of them on the toughest race of the year to prove is Shing-a-Ling a true contender or just a pretender?

We rounded Greys Reef and now it’s a 20 mile drag race to the finish and we’re only a couple of minutes ahead of our competition. If we can hold em off, we may have good news in the morning.

Here’s how close we were to another boat screaming hot through the togjt narrows of Greys Reef doing 10-12 knots.

Chicago was nice, but tomorrow it’s GO TIME. Chicago Mac race start 12:00pm. Back up the lake we go!

Our start time for the Bayview Mackinac Race is Saturday at 12:00pm. We're competing in two simultaneous races, the 260 mile Bayview Mac, and the 550 mile Ultramac which we hope to finish in Chicago some time on Wednesday.

We're sailing the "Cove Island" course.

4th place for Shing-a-Ling at Bayfield Race Week. We’re thrilled with this finish and the huge improvements since our 12th place finish last year.

We’ve got the boat packed up and now we’re shoving off for a 350 mile run across Lake Superior bound for the locks at Sault Ste. Marie. Next stop - Port Huron and the Bayview Mac race next weekend.
