These parent/child play groups are designed for 0-15 month old babies guided by Robyn Evans, OTR/L and Elizabeth Darling, PT, DPT. Therapists facilitate purposeful play to target age-appropriate developmental milestones and progression toward independent mobility. These groups are a wonderful opportunity for community-building, learning about activities to assist your baby’s development, and have questions answered by licensed pediatric physical and occupational therapists.

Gross motor milestones continued 🌸... between ages 6-10 months babies begin to explore their environments independently! This is such an exciting time for families with little ones, however, many parents also begin to notice their little one is encountering more difficulty with certain skills. Facilitating specific gross motor skills and targeting individual muscle groups throughout play can seem challenging. Luckily, we’ve got some tools that will empower you to enhance your child’s play and assist them in achieving crucial infant developmental milestones for long-term success. ⭐️PRE-CRAWLING ACTIVITIES⭐️ Crawling on hands and knees is a gross motor milestone that babies typically meet by the time they are 10-months old. This little guy is practicing weight-bearing through his arms and legs with gravity eliminated, which is a great way to help your little one progress toward crawling on hands and knees. Check out a few other pre-crawling activities below!

⭐️ Pivoting left and right on extended arms in tummy time.

⭐️ Rocking forward and backward with assistance on hands and knees.

⭐️ Play on hands and knees on an incline to build endurance for longer periods of time.

Some favorites for ages 9-12 months! During this time your baby is likely mastering crawling on hands and knees, pulling to standing, practicing independent standing balance, and cruising at a surface. They are also learning fine and visual motor skills, such as stacking objects!

Check out some of our favorites for 6-9 months! During this time many babies are on the move and learning lots of new skills each month. Baby may begin to crawl, clap, wave and self feed during mealtimes!
