Business after Hours with Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce is always better when it brings the community together.
I had a great time at the BAH at , connecting with fellow local business owners, catching up with familiar faces, and meeting more of the people who make our community so special.
A few selfies, lots of laughs, and plenty of great conversations. That’s what local business is all about. Cheers to showing up, supporting each other, and building a stronger community together! If you haven’t joined your local Chamber, now is the time - tell them we sent you!

This morning we attended the MVY Chamber's State of the Island at the Harbor View Hotel, and the conversation centered on AI and what it means for our community.
We sat in on sessions covering whether AI will recommend your business, what makes a destination iconic in an AI-driven search world, why local businesses need to be paying attention right now, and how to delegate work through AI agents. A lot to take in, and a lot that's genuinely relevant to how people are going to find your business going forward.
Here's the thing: this isn't a someday problem. The way people search is shifting fast, and AI is already answering questions your future customers are asking. That's exactly where GEO and AEO come in, optimizing your content so AI is recommending your business when someone asks. It's a space we've been closely tracking, and more importantly, a space we know how to help you act on.
If you walked away from today with more questions than answers, that's exactly what we're here for. Reach out to us at [email protected]!
Founder Marnely, along with content manager and Shored Up freelancer Amanda, represented Shored Up Digital today. Amanda also happens to be the creator and founder of Katama Candle Company, which was part of the gift bags everyone received at the event!
As your local marketing company, staying ahead of this information so you don't have to is exactly our job. And helping you execute it? Our favorite part! Email us, let's talk.

Today was an absolutely incredible day at the Festival in Hyannis!! Angela volunteered, and it was so rewarding to be part of an event that brings the community together.
So many local businesses, makers, families, and neighbors showing up to support one another. This is what community is all about, and we’re grateful to have been a part of it!

Our work in the wild! Marnely | Martha’s Vineyard did the food photos for the MV SALADS cookbook, plus she has a delicious recipe with Martha's Vineyard Sea Salt in Julia Blanter | Martha’s Vineyard Cookbook Author’s cookbook! Both books can be found at the MV Botiga by MV Salads pop up in Edgartown, where you’ll also find Sharisse Scott-Rawlins | Designer and all her amazing work!
The VH community showed up and showed out today!
The VHBA Fall Social took place at Althea Designs in Vineyard Haven this evening, and while Marnely couldn’t make it, our friend Leah stepped in to soak up the energy and grab some content. There is nothing quite like this community - thanks Leah Fraumeni ✨ Visit Vineyard Haven
There’s a list of fun updates we cannot wait to share, plus a stop at the interactive art making station, because of course there was one! Thank you to Althea for hosting such a lovely gathering, we’ll all definitely be at the next VH event!
A Time-Honored Island Tradition, Reeling in Its Next Generation 💙
Did you know the Edgartown Board of Trade proudly puts on Bass in the Grass, an event supporting the Martha’s Vineyard Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby, one of the most beloved and time-honored traditions on the Island? For decades, the Derby has brought together anglers, families, and the whole Island community every fall, and Bass in the Grass is a wonderful celebration of everything that makes it special.
Each one-of-a-kind bass is created by a local artist and auctioned to support the Derby Scholarship Fund, participating artists, and the Edgartown Board of Trade’s work in our community. Over the years, Bass in the Grass has helped raise more than $70,000 for the Derby Scholarship Fund.

I was honored to be invited to join a career pathways panel at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, speaking with juniors about the many ways a career can evolve and where unexpected opportunities can lead.
Drawing from my own experience, I shared how my early career in hospitality and pastry arts eventually led me to building a profitable food blog, which opened the door to entrepreneurship and ultimately to cofounding Shored Up Digital!
The conversation was a great reminder that careers rarely follow a perfectly straight path. Skills, curiosity, relationships, and a willingness to take the next opportunity can shape a career in ways you may not expect.
I was joined on the panel by fellow members of the Island community (shoutout Vineyard Wealth Group!), each sharing their own experiences and perspectives on career pathways with the next generation.
Thank you to MVRHS for creating space for these conversations and inviting local professionals to share their stories with students!
Yesterday, Marnely | Martha’s Vineyard had the pleasure of attending the Farming Falmouth Conference, an inspiring day centered around local agriculture, food systems, sustainability, and the people working to build a stronger local food economy.
We loved connecting with farmers, growers, food producers, advocates, and fellow members of the community, and came away with plenty to think about when it comes to the connections between local farms, hospitality, restaurants, and the communities we serve.
And a special shoutout to thebuffalojump for an incredible lunch featuring fresh, local ingredients. It was a delicious reminder of what is possible when we celebrate the farmers and food producers right here in our region.
Thank you to everyone who organized the conference and shared their knowledge, stories, and passion. We’re grateful to have been part of the conversation and to continue learning from the people helping shape the future of local food!

At Shored Up Digital, we work with a lot of incredible island businesses, but every once in a while a client comes along that just feels different. is one of those.
Marnely has lived a 15-minute walk from this farm for all 16 years she’s called Martha’s Vineyard home. This isn’t just an account to us, it’s community, friends, the farmstand she’s walked to a thousand times before it was ever a client on our roster. Getting to help tell Morning Glory’s story online, the fields, the crew, the sauces made from tomatoes grown right there, is genuinely one of our favorite parts of the job.
Some accounts you manage. This one, we just get to be a small part of something that’s already so loved. Grateful doesn’t even cover it.
