Dear friends and supporters,

I wanted to share an important update about Hallow Tallow. Going forward, there will be no more restocks at any location - all orders will be pickup or shipping only until existing stock runs out. Life has been flying by, and I’ve realized I need to reset and shift my time, focus, and energy back to my family and home life. Trying to be everything to everyone has been exhausting, and honestly - I’m burnt out! The demand for this tallow has been unreal, and I am so grateful for every single one of you who has supported this journey. October was officially one year for my LLC!! 🤝🏻

Running this business has been an incredible experience - challenging, rewarding, and full of lessons. I am deeply thankful for all the encouragement, love, and enthusiasm I’ve received along the way. Being featured on the front page of our local newspaper is something I will always treasure.

I will continue to make tallow for my family, as it truly is a remarkable product. Thank you for being part of this journey - your support has meant more than words can express.

For now, Peach Bottom Consignment , Rumbleway Farm , and The Calvert Amish Market (next to Calvert Manor Nursing Home) still have stock. It’s very limited, so if you want to grab one last jar, check them out or send me a message while supplies last.

I got a text from a friend yesterday letting me know Peach Bottom Consignment is down to one lip balm. I’ll be honest, I took one of the longest breaks from making tallow, and I’m having a harder time than expected getting back into the groove of things 😫 I know I said last weekend, but the dragging of the feet was real. Now with this big winter storm coming through, restocking my locations hasn’t been at the top of my list this week!

That said - I do have stock at my house! So if you stop by a location and don’t see what you’re looking for, please reach out. Local pickup and shipping are both available. 💌

Thank you so much for your patience and continued support, it means more than you know. Please stay safe and warm as this winter storm moves through. It’s expected to be a significant one here in Cecil County, MD. We’re fortunate to be well prepared with a wood stove, generators, and fully stocked cabinets. Santa also made sure my boys are ready with new snow gear, so we’re feeling prepared and excited!! Winter is our favorite season. I can’t remember the last time I looked forward to a snowstorm this much! Wishing everyone a safe, cozy, and joyful snowy weekend! ❄️☃️

Anybody else still feeling that post holiday burnout? The holiday lag is very real over here. My son's birthday is in between Christmas and New Year's Day! I have a 5 yr old now, guys. 🥹 Slowly but surely getting back into the groove of things. Hi friends! Long time, no post. I totally missed wishing everyone a Happy New Year - sorry about that! The holidays have been a beautiful kind of busy over here. Right after Christmas, we celebrated my sweet boy turning 5… such a fun age! He’s smart, kind, so loving, and I couldn’t be more proud of him. He amazes me every single day.
I needed to slow down, pause the clock, and truly be present for a while. Life is always moving, and I’m always doing something, but it felt good to step back and just be.

A reminder to all of us: Don’t get so busy making a living that we forget to make a life. I’m really glad I did just that. 💓

Today was pure magic for me and my family. I hope it was the same for you!

It’s been quite some time since I’ve come across a cake with this level of impurities!!! No worries, just scrape and go.

Q: What are impurities, you ask?!

A: The impurities you see settled at the bottom of a hardened beef tallow cake are the heavier, non fat components that didn’t fully separate during rendering. Common ones include:

1) Meat proteins – tiny cooked protein particles that sink as the tallow cools.

2) Connective tissue residue – collagen or gelatin remnants from sinew.

3) Blood solids – especially if the fat wasn’t fully washed or rendered slowly.

4) Burnt bits/ caramelized solids – from higher heat rendering.

5) Dirt or debris – occasional trace contaminants from processing or trimming.

6) Water soluble impurities – minerals and dissolved compounds that settle out as moisture evaporates.
