I love decorating cakes in new and challenging designs. I would be happy to do the cake for your upcoming special occassion!
Despite my copious amount of college degrees, I find nothing I have been formally trained to do as exciting as cake decorating. Consequently, I turned my passion into a business and voila, Sophistcake was born. Conveniently, I am able to operate from home and take care of my husband and young daughter at the same time as I do something I love. Our household also serves as a permanent home for two pudgy beagles and usually for a foster beagle through the BREW beagle rescue organization. Accordingly, I cannot guarantee a 100% dog-hair free cake, although I take every precaution to ensure there are none in or on my cakes. I am not licensed by the State of Ohio because of my pets. Instead I operate under the Ohio Cottage Laws. I have always appreciated beautifully decorated cakes and finally took the initiative to begin baking professionally in 2009. I love learning new techniques and constantly add to my creative abilities by taking classes and attending shows. Martha Stewart is one of my inspirations, as are the wonderfully creative ladies at Wild Flour Bakery in Rocky River, Ohio.

Summer cupcake special!
I'm taking orders again for cupcakes specifically (Sorry! Nobody got time for cake around here).
Here are the particulars:
Cake choices: Chocolate, vanilla, or lemon cake.
Icing choices: strawberry, vanilla, key lime, cinnamon, or lavender.
Liner choices: plain white or foil.
Cupcakes are pretty enough on their own but Lavender iced get 1-3 tiny culinary lavender buds on top. Other flavors can have sugar or pearl sprinkles added if requested and available.
Quantities must be ordered in even dozens (so a $30 min. order)with a one dozen per flavor minimum.
$15 a dozen for any flavor combo.
I will deliver them for $10 within 5 miles or $25 to other destinations in Lorain or Cuyahoga County.

I was happy to do a very special cake for an old (literally and figuratively!) friend of ours last weekend. A new household favorite: maple iced cake topped in candied bacon. Inside, guests had a choice between cinnamon cake or a deliciously buttery b**r cake. I'm a w**e drinker myself but the b**r cake was hands down my favorite!
So forget the pumpkin pie - wow your Thanksgiving guests with a bacon cake they won't forget ; )
It's been a cookie and cupcake kind of summer!
